BREAKING NEWS

The man, the myth, the legend GEORGE CLOONEY is being arrested as we speak in DC....more later!

update:

Even when he is being bad, he is good. He and his pops were outside the Sudanese Embassy this morning protesting. Apparently the police told them to stay back...George, daddy, and weirdly Rep. Jim Moran did not so they were whisked to the hoosegow.  I'm glad Jim Moran took time out of his busy hair-coloring schedule to attend this little rally.

From his reps: "They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world."

George is many things, including smart. He's been in town since Wednesday and testified on the Hill about Sudan. He knows that he could sneeze and it would make the papers. Being arrested will make people pay attention...more so if he was just standing outside an embassy screaming his head off.

who cares about David Cameron when George is in town

George Clooney is on the hill today discussing the Sudan. I could say many things about this, but I'm going to leave it alone. However, the grade A stalking prowess that I have, looks like George is staying (or was staying) at the Willard if any of you want to catch a drink and a glimpse.

I have met GC before when he was in DC to film the short lived HBO show, K Street. He did some filming in my building and I rode the elevator with him and Steven Soderbergh.  I wasn't knocked out by his looks as I was his height. I'm pretty tall and was in heels, and he made it to my shoulder.  If any of you fans start screaming that he is 6 feet tall, I will call you a liar and laugh in your face. Maybe 5'8. MAYBE.

I haven't seen C-Span in a couple of minutes, but last I saw, he was in Dirksen. So all you stalkers head on over...oh and hit up the sundry for some delicious chicken fingers. Sigh...I miss the Senate.

see what happened was...

Yeah. I've been m.i.a. for the past week, but really it's not my fault. There was the board meeting in Florida that I did not get to attend, yet again, but still had all the work to do for it. Then there was this raging infection that has hosted in my body - host vs. graft for all you arrested development lovers. I swear I'm dying. Then there was the impromptu trip to DC from the Jolie-Pitts. Then there was....oh, wait. You don't care? You are still stuck on the revelation that the two wax figures know as "brangelina" were in town? Yeah...me too.

Lady Lala was supposed to write a whole entry about the sighting down at "the dump", complete with commentary on how Angie looked at her and it was instant love.  But Lala is a slacker. There. I said it. Actually, I think she just keeps reliving the moment over and over and can't come back to the real world.

Lala herself was the one to find out the "scoop" on the infamous dinner guests.  After enjoying a couple of cocktails with new girl (who isn't so new anymore) and packing it up to go, a mysterious informant (who might be pictured in the photo showing off his bodyguard skillz but cannot be named) tipped her off and then OH SHIT, it was on. Back to the table they ran waiting for a sighting. Being the poor, sick creature that I am, I had left earlier in the day to nap it off. I get a shrieking call informing me that not only is Angie here, but Brad - complete with cane - have arrived. Obviously, I slipped my uggs over my leggings, and high tailed it back to the office to see the messiahs myself.

I got to tell you the truth...I was unimpressed. I've seen her before once when she was in the Senate meeting with Joe Biden, but I had never seen Brad.  If you were to see him on the street, not surrounded by the paparazzi, you would think he's just a waxy hipster. Obviously, I am being crucified for not being more excited when I saw them, but after the past couple months of celebrities at the "dump", I just don't freak out over just anyone.  Give me a good Ryan Gosling sighting and I will shriek like a 14 year old girl (cause that's what 2012 is all about).

Brangie, as I am now calling them since we are so tight, were in town to promote Ang's new movie - In the Land of Blood and Honey - which I keep calling milk and honey (you know my title is better).  They were having dinner with some of the stars of the movie and Valerie Jarrett from the White House. Don't get me started on the last little detail of that sentence.  As they were headed out, I noticed this handsome guy, who bore a strong resemblance to a poor man's Daniel Craig, left before the group did and it occurred to me that they must be here for the movie (this was before we read about it the next morning).  I made a comment to the group that I had read an article about the actors from the movie. They all are from Bosnia and one was in the movie Taken.  Well all of a sudden this guy walks over and asks if he can light his cigarette with the candle on the table. We all said sure - though I'm not sure Lala and New Girl were breathing with the impending departure of Brangie - and he stood at the table, lit his cig, smiled, puffed away while in the restaurant and then walked away with some great fuck me eyes.  Well that guy? You know who it was? It was Goran Kostic...who was in ... wait for it...Taken.

Man I hate being right all the time.

post hoc ergo propter hoc

I am exhausted with the celebrity sightings in DC.  In the past 10 days, I have seen Dennis Leary, Martin Sheen, the girl from the West Wing who played CJ's assistant - Carol, and Matthew Perry.
I didn't zoom in because I didn't want to get caught taking a picture, because I'm above that...unless its Tucker Carlson. So here's how it went down...New Girl, Fancy Nancy and I went down to the office bar, which is a lot like Cheers but without a Sam, or Norm.  Now, a word about the office bar. It's pretty fancy...in fact its one of the best places in DC. However, we have gotten spoiled by just going down for a quick drink that most of us consider it a dump. An expensive dump, but a dump. So we were sitting around, doing a recap of the day, when this guy walks into the vestibule and he looks familiar...short...but familiar.  All of a sudden it clicks on who he is and I say to the group "holy shitballs, President Bartlett is about to walk in."  Mostly that sentence made the other two say "WHOOOO" because both of them suck at watching TV, but as you all know, watching tv is like, my life.  For those who didn't watch The West Wing, go rent it immediately. Republican, Democrat, Independent...it doesn't matter. If you have any interest in politics or DC this is a great show. Well, until season 6 - then the shit is down hill from there.  So, where was I...POTUS Bartlett had just walked in the door, flanked by a bodyguard and Carol, the girl who played CJ's assistant in the show. For the nerds out there, did you know that "Carol" ran for Congress from PA?  She lost.  But that's not the story...anyhow, she walked in the door wearing an adorable turquoise and white summer dress.  However, it was not adorable on her.  It was really out of place, and her shoes were a.w.f.u.l. She seemed really nice and took pictures with people in the restaurant/bar.  So did Marty Sheen. So while we were dazed and confused watching these two "celebrities", I happen to look outside to the patio to see what idiots were sitting outside in 100 degree heat...and it was Matthew Perry.  Yep - Chandler Bing from Friends, just puffing away on his cig.  So MP was looking a little rough. As someone said, he looked like a walking PSA for sunscreen and say no to drugs.  But I thought he looked good. Homeboy needed a haircut, but still cute.  He ordered a diet coke, and New Girl reminded me that he had a slight problem with pain killers...yeah...who hasn't...but he wasn't drinking.  That's okay, because the 3 of us were knocking them back.  He seemed overly fascinated in our table, like he wanted to sit down and talk, which would have been fine. I can talk to anyone. True story.  The 3 of them were in town for a "drug court", which is a court that would deal only with drug convictions.  I don't know why that is something that they would petition for, but whatever floats your boat. None of us got pictures with them, mostly because, as they told me this morning, I was very adamant about no pictures and playing it cool.  Sorry guys.

I only wish that Bradley Whitford, who played Josh Lymon on the West Wing, would have been there. I would have freaked out. And it would have been amazing.

Also in the bar, were Sen. Coons (who called Marty Sheen "Mr. President), and Sen. Whitehouse, who talked about a private plane and going on vacation. Why isn't he republican?
