reading rainbow

I love to read...I really do. The latest thriller, congressional reports, blogs, magazines, Basel III for dummies. You name it, I'll read it. I guess I'm from the old school where reading is knowledge and everyone knows from GI Joe that knowledge is power. So inside the knowledge that the October issues of Elle and Vogue provide, both had things I felt like I needed to mention.

First up, Vogue had a huge spread on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I could only make it through about half of it, mostly turned off at the very beginning showing what a great mom she is by having 2 of her 3 children running around her congressional office while she gave the interview. It reads like most congress interviews - she's super special and super smart and she's the best person for the job. I have to wonder if her opponent in the 20th district of Florida will get the same fan fare from Vogue? Isn't that a rule somewhere? Actually, I don't really care about any of that because I mostly wanted to highlight what one might look like before the Vogue stylist gets to you....
And then after....
I really couldn't believe the pictures when I read it. I think I stared at her pic for a good 5 minutes before declaring that the american people should pay for her blow outs every damn day. She looks fantastic. I'm totally going to ignore the fact that she states that she hated herself when she was a size 8 and had no energy and that, praise be, she is a size 2 now.
Another thing that will make you VOL - vomit out loud (totally copywritting my genius), this Dear E. Jean letter. I think E. Jean is a hack who sits around and writes these ricidulous "dear abby" type of situations that would never occur in a million years. Like, dear E. Jean, my boyfriend has no job, no car, and no money. He's been living off of me for a year. I totally love him tho. What to do?" - signed I'm a frittata in everywhere, usa. And then E. Jean will give her some stupid fake advice, like, it's totally okay. Just let him sit his fat ass on your couch watching Regis and Kelly and eventually he will wise up. RIGHT. Whatever...off subject. Read here and see if you can contain your emotions till the end....

Dear E. Jean: I’m a 34-year-old Internet entrepreneur and angel investor. Can you help me find a woman? What I’m looking for is a life partner— not the "mother of my children." Anyone who aspires to be a housewife is automatically eliminated. The women I fall for typically intimidate men. I suppose the easiest way to summarize is to say that I’m seeking a smarter, hotter, younger, female version of myself (smile). I’m cognizant of the fact that ultimately I’ll fall in love with the woman and not the checklist. So without further ado, here’s the perfect girl for me:

•Out-of-this-world intelligent and passionate

•Ambitious and extremely independent with eclectic and diverse interests

•Not needy, high-maintenance, jealous, or requiring constant attention (I suppose it goes with “extremely independent,” but it’s worth mentioning)

•Very adventurous—loves to backpack around China, for example

•Supersexual and sexually adventurous, multiorgasmic through vaginal sex

•On the Pill

•5'7"–6'1"

•Very thin (but not because she’s starving herself or has food issues—I want someone who will be thin her entire life)

•Small breasts (usually come with "very thin")

•Gorgeous (symmetrical face and features)

•Loves big dogs (but not small dogs or cats)

•Atheist, agnostic, or not religious

•Happy!

•Healthy!

•Nice!

•Does not want kids in the next five years
•Is in her twenties
•Plays tennis very well, helicopter skis, and is dying to learn how to kiteboard
•Speaks French perfectly
•Plays video games (maybe I am asking for a bit much here :) )
Historically, the women who’ve been the best girlfriends for me have been entrepreneurs, lawyers, consultants, doctors, bankers, writers, university professors. That’s not to say there aren’t extremely smart, passionate, ambitious girls who are models, work in marketing or PR, or teach K–12, but it’s just less likely. From a looks perspective, I’m pretty agnostic when it comes to hair color, eye color, etc., but I do have very specific tastes: They run to Kate Beckinsale, Diane Kruger, Izabel Goulart, Eva Green, Joanna Krupa, and Odette Annable. I’m also including the pics of my most serious exes so you get a sense of what the girls I really liked look like. Where can I find her? —The Great Gatsby
E. Jean’s note to readers: When I mentioned the "multiorgasmic vaginal sex" requirement to a friend, she said, "Ha, ha, what an asshole."

"But he’s one of the richest men in New York!" I said. “He has too high an opinion of himself,” she said. "Naw," I replied. "The man’s simply saying what most men are thinking but are too politically correct to admit."

Anyway, I’ve met this fellow. After a wild midnight dinner at Cipriani with a half-dozen tech-start-up guys, I vaguely recall asking him what he was "looking for" and promising to "set him up." Three weeks later he pinged me his list. And now…my answer:
Gatsby, You Handsome Idiot: You made your first million two years out of Harvard. Run the search for your "life partner" the way you run your business. Hire a researcher, a PR director, and a COO, and put them to work recruiting. By Thanksgiving you’ll be kiteboarding off Fiji with a flat-chested tennis player. Now, shall we break it down?

The Researcher registers on Match, JDate, eHarmony, OkCupid, and the like, slogs through the thousands of profiles, and selects promising candidates. (This process is so tedious I suggest you hire two interns at $25 an hour each to assist.) The researcher also scouts prospects by dropping by the ladies’ lounge in Bergdorf’s; attending parties at the Harvard Club; and making appearances at gallery openings, polo matches, Stanford charity runs, croquet competitions, fashion shows, and political fundraisers; and creates a master list of 24-year-old Parisian nymphomaniacs who run corporations. (As this list of candidates will amount to only five women, the researcher will "broaden the base.")
The PR Director gets you invited to posh parties, arranges for flattering stories about you to appear in The New York Times, and puts out the word that you’re giving an Aston Martin to the person who keeps the most women away from you. (This counterintuitive move will inspire the imaginations of ladies around the world.)
The Chief Operating Officer, aka your matchmaker, vets the top 40 women nominated by the researcher and PR person, adds three or four selections of her own, and arranges the introductions. When choosing a matchmaker, go with the best: Amber Kelleher-Andrews at Kelleher International or Amy Andersen at Linx Dating. They handle high-profile humans whose lists of demands make yours look like Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s. If you want a younger, cooler matchmaker, try my little Tawkify.com.
P.S. About those photos of your extomatoes: I was braced for inhuman beauty. After a glimpse, I can say I'll eat this four-pound September ELLE if you don’t find a woman with whom you can be happy. The ladies in these pictures are lovely, but it's clear you prize intellectual and sexual chemistry above appearance. I like you the better for it! Give me your hand. Good luck!

So basically this douche wants a supermodel that doesn't speak (unless it's french!), eat, hates God, barely breathes, and can jump out of a helicopter on demand. Ladies - if ya'll know anyone that fits this description, give a holler to E. Jean.

And I'm out on this dreary Tuesday,

second verse, same as the first

Day two of the republican convention and it was pretty much just like the first night. Boresville: population 50. The Nader people were still fuming about something (I missed why they were upset - perhaps something about his eyebags?), the freak shows were still there wearing their cowboy hats, and I was bored to tears a hour in.

I got the impression it was trying to be ladies night with Gov. Martinez, Condolezza Rice...and Mike Huckabee, but then Paul Ryan and his devilish good looks ruined the whole evening. I'm going to put it out there - Susana Martinez might be my new favorite person. She was adorable talking her taco-talk and telling us about how she carried a gun. Man, us R's really do love their guns. I thought Condi did a great job though I feel like a lot of people were too fixated on the lipstick on her teeth. I would have been too had I been paying more attention. I would love to see Con kicked back, drinking beer, cursing - just letting herself go just a bit. She's so stiff and boring.

Now onto Paul Ryan. Oh Paul. What was with your wife and her weird mouth movements? She seemed to have a weird tick that involved moving her mouth back and forth. His mom and kids were cute ... the daughter with her sparkly hair bow made me smile (and think to myself I need a new fascinator). Speaking of cute, Paul looked fantastic. The pale blue tie was a good choice bringing out the blue in his eyes. What his speech was about was lost on me though...Casablanca was on and for the good of the resistance, I turned the channel to watch Bogie, Ingrid and Sam. Sorry I'm not sorry.

Mitt is on center stage tonight. So is South Carolina Gamecock football. Tough decision, but I think everyone knows I love any opportunity to scream "GO COCKS".

Bunny

must see tv?

Day one of the republican convention and well...what can be said? I'm going to chalk it up to the hurricane, but damn it was the saddest, pitiful little thing I have ever seen. And these are my people. Well not those Ron Paul freaks or those assholes who love Santorum. I'm also not really a Romney girl...however his boys are seriously good looking. Well except that one who looks like he doesn't belong. You know the one I'm talking about.

When you work behind the scenes of these events it looks so much more overwhelming and imposing, but those poor people wearing their sad little cowboy hats and the weirdos who dressed up in their state colors were just depressing. How about that Artur Davis though? Ain't no way he is going back to the Dem party. He was throwing total shade at Obama. He was really a great speaker...we should use him more.

I switched between the convention and the us open. With Rafa out, Novak is in...to my heart that is. Don't think I jumped off the nadal train...I'm still the president, but I have always loved Novak too. And the fact that my Goldman crush bares more than a slight resemblance to him doesn't hurt either. Speaking of - GS crush waved at me last week. It was the highlight of my year day.

and the case to vote Republican

There is a decorum to the United States Senate. It is, after all, the "upper chamber" and should be recognized as such. As a staffer, I was not allowed to wear jeans even in recess or wear my Jack Rogers (the horror). This isn't necessarily the case for everyone, but for my crazy office it was.

I heard the whispers that Will Smith was in the building yesterday afternoon for lunch at "the dump". The whispers didn't quite get the reaction they should have because Friday we were visited by the US men's Olympic basketball team. I had no idea who any of them were, but I can scream "USA!" with the best of them. And they didn't get the reaction they deserved, because other than Fresh Prince, I could give two shits about Will and his ragamuffin children. Then I see this picture Willow uploaded to the tweetsies and I am horrified. I want the name of the staffer that let this happen.

And in the Senate Foreign Relations hearing room? Have you no couth Willow Smith? You should be ashamed...you too John Kerry. Foreign Relations is an important committee, unlike something stupid like Rules and Administration. I guess I should be excited she wore a blazer...at least that was appropriate.

the wide world of Disney

Sometimes I really love the Huffington Post. They have completely made my day with this photo montage - "Politicians who look like Disney Characters". Yes, while sad, I will nerd rage because these are my people. Let's take a look at the best shall we?

Prince Eric from Little Mermaid and Rep. Paul Ryan (R - WI)

Having hosted Rep. Ryan this week in the office for a fundraiser, I will definitely agree on this one. The smile...the perfect coif of hair....the piercing blue eyes....the chin that could cut glass. Sigh. The man is a fucking dream boat. And he is a lot taller than he appears. Even though it's now de-funct, this tumblr about Paul is fantastic. Like the Baby Goose's Hey Girl, but better for policy nerds.

Mr. Smee from Capt. Hook and Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA)
HILARIOUS and so dead on. They even share black eyebrows and funky glasses. I bet Mr. Smee doesn't spit when he talks though. Or sounds like a muppet. Great story about BFrank: a co-worker lives down the street from him on the Hill. She is constantly behind him as he does his weekly dry cleaning run where he leaves a trail of ties and shirts as he walks. As he drops his tie, she runs up and picks it up and hands it back to him. He looked her dead in the face and told her it wasn't his tie. She laughed because OF COURSE it was his tie as there was no one in the vicinity with laundry. He didn't appear to be in good humor, ripped the tie away from her, and kept walking. I know this story is hard to believe because Barney and clean clothes is hard to believe.

The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I - VT)

This is funny because not only is the photo perfect, Bernie Sanders is more crazy than the Mad Hatter. This pic of Bernie is flattering - most of the time his hair is in a constant state of disarray and he looks like he would murder you. And then maybe eat you. Yeah...Fun guy. Great date for a dinner party.

Karl Rove and Blankie from Brave Little Toaster
Little known fact that my brother, the Great Hambino, who is not known for his love of anything fru-fru or girly LOVED Brave Little Toaster as a child and Blankie was his favorite. I think I remember him crying on several occasions that Blankie and the Toaster might not make it back to their family. Seeing this photo made me smile. Mostly for Blankie himself.

the dc prom

Saturday was cold and rainy in the nation's capital and it made my heart warm knowing that all these celebrities would be miserable. As you all know, my invite wasn't delivered so I couldn't stand in person at the Hilton and impose my fashion "ehhh" face to those who needed it. Let's do a run down of the night shall we?

Arianna Huffington
WOOOOF. I give you snaps for using color, but holy crapballs - no.
Elizabeth Banks
FLAWLESS.
Elle Macpherson
SHUT. IT. DOWN.
Gayle King
Oh honey. No.

Alicia Keys
Seems Alicia broke away from her delicious dinner at Fudruckers to attend this
little dinner down the street. This is something you would wear to the mall, not a black tie gala.

Ivanka Trump
You go Glenn Coco.
Kate Hudson
LOVE everything about this. The hair, the dress, EVERYTHING.

Mama Kris and little Kimmy Sue
Listen, this is about as demure as both get.
HOWEVER, should mom have been wearing a bra - absolutely.
Lindsey Lohan
I expected worse from her. She actually looks good.
She looks healthy and her hair is back to a normal color.
Sooki
What is with the shit-eating smirk? I guess she did an okay job being preggers and all.
I'm so over True Blood that I have no idea why they would be invited again this year.
Tory Burch.
Listen, me and Tory need to sit down and have a little talk about
how TB has lost her fucking mind. Everytime I turn around, she has upped the prices on her
mediocre stuff. One trip to her store this weekend and I wanted to claw my eyes out.
Martha Stewart
Um. No words.
PEEEEEETA
Again, if he wasn't 19 and 4'11, I would have already
made him by baby daddy.
Rachel Zoe
I wish you could have seen me Saturday morning when I heard RZ
was attending the dinner. I almost had a meltdown.
Not because I love her (which I do!), but who the fuck invited RZ and not me?
Also, Rachel dear, eat a burger or something. Your gauntess is disgusting.
Ladies and gentlemen, Sigourny Weaver in her next role as the Statue of Liberty.
AWFUL.
Claire Danes
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
Goldie Hawn
CUT YOUR BANGS. I just can't with this woman anymore.

B

joyeux anniversaire à moi

Just shy of my one year blog birthday, I cannot believe how fast a year has gone. I feel "you're what the french call les incompetents" has become better than when I started, but is still a work in process. However, thank you for your continued reading of the random shit that pops into my head. I love you all. XO

In honor of the anniversary and because I haven't done bullets in awhile, here we go....

*Did anyone watch the Frontline special on PBS Tuesday night about "the street" and the financial crisis? It was fantastic and definitely worth the watch. Yes, it is 2 hours long, but in the end you will be smarter. If you ever want to know anything about a 'credit default swap', I'm your girl.

*After watching the special, I decided that I will never do any banking with UBS Americas. The CEO is like a giddy school girl when it comes to Obama, continually divulging insider info to him while the street was declining and then admitting it on tv.

*Barney Frank was interviewed in the Frontline special. I can't get over how much he sounds like a muppet. I also can't get over how he has a partner and is getting married this summer. If Barney can find love, surely I could find someone, right?

*I am sad to announce that for yet another year, I did not get invited to the White House Correspondence Dinner which is to be held this Saturday at the Hinkley Hilton. It's fine, because I already have plans, but just once I would like to be asked. This year's attendees include Josh Hutcherson (SWOOON), Diane Keaton (snooze), Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sen. Olympia Snowe (why?), Lindsay Lohan (christ almighty), George Clooney (shocker), Zooey Deschanel, Charlize Theron, Sofia Vergara, Viola Davis, Dakota Fanning, Aziz Ansari, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer (why?)....and fucking Kim Kardashian. I guess the question on every one's mind is will Kanye attend as well? I am so over them already, I hate to think what is yet to happen.

*It's Take Your Children to Work Day which is evident by the 10 petrie dishes walking around. The only good thing from their visit? Capri Sun. I am happily jamming out to my music, sipping some fruit punch, writing my heart out, and staying far away from their sticky little hands and whiney mouths. Someone let me know when they leave, umk?

*Speaking of snotty kids, take a look at this NYT article about the rise of fashion designers with children's lines. Sure...right Lanvin...as soon as I have $1200 and a child, I'll be sure to call you up and purchase the tulle dress.

*I need a vacation. Like STAT. Any ideas?

XOXO,
Bunny

the hair really is beautiful

It's the feel good story of 2012. The John Edwards' trial. The level of stupidity is egregious. If you are a little lost in what is actually happening, take a look at this ABC story on the key players in the trail.

I think most people are still shocked at how the pretty boy's campaign imploded and that his staffer, Andrew Young, would take responsibility for Edwards' affair. There is something about power that makes people forget reason. When you work for someone that you think could be the "real thing" and could make it to the White House, there is no doubt in my mind that you do what you have to to make them succeed. Even if it is ruining your marriage by admitting to procreating with someone named Rielle. I don't think Andrew is the crazy one...if anyone should be blamed, it should be Mrs. Andrew Young. As a woman, she should have been the most logical one of the group and put her foot down immediately. But I can see how fancy hotels and private jets cloud one's judgement. It certainly clouds mine.

Edwards faces up to 30 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines if found guilty for his stupidity. I wouldn't feel too sorry for him though...I'm sure he'll be in the Club Med of prisons. Maybe they will allow his hair stylist to visit....perhaps for "conjugal" visits.

hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

While I still stand behind my assessment on the first episode of Scandal, the third episode was better than I was expecting. I'm not saying it's the most amazing show on tv or anything, but the last couple of minutes on the show I was literally saying out loud "I did NOT see that coming".

ABC ran the second episode a week early on their website which means I have completely forgotten about what I watched 2 weeks ago, but I remember not hating it as much as the first one.  Yes - there is still too much talking. Too, too much. The walk-and-talk-like-the-west-wing doesn't work so much because Kerry Washington tries to cat-walk instead of walk-walk. The camera man has to be in love with KW because his up-close-and-personal camera angles are not really flattering, more stalkerish than anything.  He also has some weird fetish about filming through a prismed glass. The new girl, who we finally learned is named Quin, is extra baggage and if ABC knew anything they should cut her immediately.

Sigh. There are good parts of the show, though I'm not sure they outweigh the bad. The A story line is always a struggle to get through. The B story line, which involves President Tony Goldwyn, however, is heating up. (Sorry, I don't actually know his show name). Whoowhee.  Maybe it's because he is deliciously hot, maybe it's because he is deliciously flawed - I don't know, but last night's episode was potus centric and I did not mind it at all.

How come when a woman loves a man she can't have it's seen as sad and pathetic. But when a man loves a woman the same way, we all say "awww...that's precious"?  Is it because men don't have feelings so when they do exhibit any human emotion all women are supposed to swoon? I'm off on a tangent, I know, but I recommend you watch the latest installment of Scandal. If not for the rug being pulled out in the last 45 seconds of the show, then watch just for the close ups of my vote for the 2012 election....President Tony. Bumper stickers and t-shirts will be available shortly.

Bunny loves President Tony

you say escort, I say whore

Can I tell you how much I love the story of the Secret Service and the prostitute? While I do feel bad for the "upscale escort" and her panic attacks (because the secret service absolutely WILL make you disappear....they do not play), I feel even worse for the poor guys involved. This story has blown up to a full crisis and people will end up on the chopping block. It takes years and a shit ton of tax payer money to find and train men who will jump in front of a bullet for the potus.

All I have to say is to the SS - I sit at the opposite end of the Mall and am more than willing...as long as you wear the earpiece...cause that junks is hot.

the tell was he called her sweet baby

SPOILER ALERT. I am about to critique the new ABC show, Scandal. If you saw it, feel free to chime in. If you didn't but are going to, then stop reading and read after you watch.

If you don't live under a rock, then you will know that ABC has been promoting the hell out of this show. It showed a lot of promise - DC, scandals, the president - all things I very much enjoy. And it's from the lady who wrote Grey's Anatomy, which when it started was a good show. Now...well, not so much.

I kept a written train of thought while watching, and while usually that means bullet points and crazy thoughts, I apparently was filled with lots of emotion and opinions, because there is a whole written diary on the first episode.

Where to start....where to start?  Well, for one, there is TOO MUCH TALKING. I instantly feel that I've been transformed back to watching the West Wing, except I like WW and this is grating on my nerves. It's like Aaron Sorkin-esque, but not as well written.  We are thrown into the show in a crowded DC bar. A girl wearing what Hollywood thinks is DC attire walks to the bar and to tell a hot guy that she isn't staying because she doesn't do "blind dates". I can tell the audience already hates her (read: me) because 1. her outfit is atrocious and 2. she's not attractive and therefore should be snubbing her nose at a blind date, especially a good looking, well dressed blind date. She's told this isn't a blind date, but more so a job interview. We have yet to know her name, her current occupation, and why she has applied for a new job. The words "Olivia Pope" are mentioned and the poor girl goes catatonic, almost foaming at the mouth. She's hired (what her credentials are, we have no idea, because they have yet to tell us) and whisked away because she starts right this minute...at 7pm. The only thing we are told of this girl is that her awful outfit shows way too much cleavage, which in DC there is a fine line between "appropriate" and "intern attire" (as all girls on the hill nod and say "true that").

Enter Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope. Her hair instantly distracts me. She is a beautiful woman, but the side bang she's rocking highlight her incredibly large forehead. I find myself trying to brush the bangs over as she's on-screen, and only towards the end of the show does my magic start to work. There is A LOT of walking and talking, something about a baby and $3 million dollars and her gut. She also calls out the new girl for showing too much chest. Even though she is poorly dressed, she is not showing too much skin.  I'm 8 minutes into this show and I'm exhausted and starting to hate it...this is not good.

I'm not sure what kind of business Olivia runs, because she makes a point to say they aren't a law firm, but they are lawyers. There is hot random black guy, mexican IT guy who was in Weeds and was a drug dealer, random guy from LOST (which reminded me how much I hated that show), and some red headed chick who makes a point of saying 10 minutes into the show that she hates republicans. Fantastic. I should point out that said republican hating red head is wearing white hose. Not leggings - panty hose. Isn't there some line about stones and glass houses?

Enter the client...it's Dr.  Judson for all you Hart of Dixie fans...covered in blood. His girlfriend has been shot in the head 3 times. His alibi is weak at best and he knows he is going to be arrested. Let me say that compared to the other losers on this show, his hotness is distracting. He's a decorated war hero, he's a powerful speaker for the far right wing, and he swears he didn't do it. Olivia believes him because her "gut" tells her so. Um, Liv, maybe it's heartburn.

Someone says blah, someone else says blah and 10 people died of boredom. And thennnnnn I remembered why I wanted to watch this show....TONY GOLDWYN. Damn ya'll, I really do have a type. I need help. Tony plays the President of the United States. I'm instantly alert and back into the show and wondering why none of the current presidential nominees look like him. Tony is in search of a PR person too because it looks like he's been naughty (very into this show now). His affair-e is threatening to make the story public. Olivia is "hired" because she used to work for potus and believes in him. The girl in affair - question is the same girl that outed Leo McGarry as a drunk on the west wing. We hate her. (Side note: Joshua Malina, also of the WW is also on this show. Someone let me know when Bradley Whitford appears). Olivia comes off a little too harsh, showing a little too much emotion on the accused girl in front of her new protege (whose name we still don't know) and I instantly know where this whole episode is headed. I could have written this in my sleep. It's amateur at best....but we are only half way through. At 45 minutes in and I find myself saying out loud "holy shit balls this is awful."

I'll leave the rest for you to watch, but I'm on the fence if I will give this show a second watch, even with the hottest potus known to man. There is too much talking, the camera work makes me think I'm having a seizure and coupled with the white hose, no makeup, ugly people, and a weird story, I just don't see me putting in the effort.  But, if given a choice between doing the right thing and sleeping with President Tony Goldwyn....well, hell, I guess get me a beret and a cigar and call me Monica.

XOXO,
Bunny Goldwyn

like a rhinestoned cowboy..err...grrrrl

Please do not construe this post to be in any way, shape, or form about Treyvon Martin or his parents. No, this post is about something not quite as important...dress code.

DC is clothes stuffy. I admit it. Most of my closet is black, navy blue and the occasional gray with some pops of color here and there. Even if I didn't live in DC, this is how I would dress because dark colors are slimming. DC'ers are professional in the sense that we are a bit up-tight, only allowing our emotions to boil up in traffic and the occasional congressional hearing. Gossip - that we do - because it's a victimless crime like tax evasion or public indecency.

All of a sudden our eyes have been assaulted by first term congresswoman Frederica Wilson.  When she first came to DC, she was known for wearing the most ridiculous get ups you have ever seen.  When her petition to the United States House of Representatives to wear cowboy hats on the floor was denied, I thought she would just disappear and learn to conform to the monotony of DC.

Oh...but HELL TO THE NO. Yesterday, when Treyvon's parents came to town to discuss their son's case, this crazy dressed to impress.
Someone please explain to me how rhinestoned cowboy hats are appropriate in ANY situation unless you are at Senior Frogs having a margarita made in your mouth....let alone multiple in different colors.

Ugh...I just can't with her. Please, CNN, I beg of you to stop showing her during my gym time. It just makes me want to leave sooner.

BREAKING NEWS

The man, the myth, the legend GEORGE CLOONEY is being arrested as we speak in DC....more later!

update:

Even when he is being bad, he is good. He and his pops were outside the Sudanese Embassy this morning protesting. Apparently the police told them to stay back...George, daddy, and weirdly Rep. Jim Moran did not so they were whisked to the hoosegow.  I'm glad Jim Moran took time out of his busy hair-coloring schedule to attend this little rally.

From his reps: "They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world."

George is many things, including smart. He's been in town since Wednesday and testified on the Hill about Sudan. He knows that he could sneeze and it would make the papers. Being arrested will make people pay attention...more so if he was just standing outside an embassy screaming his head off.

another state dinner I wasn't invited to

Maybe it's the way I eat soup? Maybe it's because I didn't have anything to wear? Maybe it's because George Clooney was pissed I told ya'll where he was staying while in town. No - those aren't it because everyone knows I'm an amazing dresser and eater. But whatever the reason, I was not invited to the state dinner with British PM David Cameron. It's fine...I'm not at all hurt...I didn't cry into my pillow at all last night.

Sigh.

Let's go down the list of who did attend in my place: Harvey Weinstein and beautiful wife, Georgina Chapman - head of Marchesa, George Clooney because he just can't remove himself from DC, Anna Wintour and boyfriend Shelby Bryant, Warren Buffet, and Carey Mulligan. Mumford and Sons was the entertainment - cute Mr. President.

Michelle wore Marchesa; Samantha Cameron wore British designer Alessandra Rich. While unusual, I really like Sammy's dress. What I'm not a fan of is the belt. The ever present blue belt. She wore the shit out of that belt...along with navy pumps for most of her stay in DC.

I thought Mrs. O looked stunning in her Marchesa dress, but can we talk about her choice of accessory? While I LOVE a large statement necklace and women who can pull them off, this came out looking almost drag queenish to me. Anyone else? It just seemed like too much with the dress. I might have paired it with a navy skirt suit and a white t-shirt. Don't get me wrong, she rocked the shit out of it and I'm not one to give compliments to MO that often. Maybe if she wasn't wearing the earrings....

Georgina in Marchesa, obvi. She really needs to help poor hubby Harvey clean up a bit. He's looking more slovenly every day.

Anna in Chanel rocking some open toes in March. Boyfriend Shelby Bryant behind her. Only someone as small as Anna could pull off this dot print.

dc in 3 minutes

When you take away the traffic and the rain and the protesters, DC is amazingly beautiful.
