It's the little things in life that make me happy. A cold frappucino on a hot day, a smile from the cute Goldman Sachs guy in the gym (this hasn't happend YET), Justin Bieber being made fun of on national television by David Letterman. Multiple shots of Carlos Costa in a blue suit and crisp white shirt watching Rafa win his match before noon? Well that makes me beyond happy...like cold shower happy. It's a damn shame that the summer of weddings seems to fall strategically during the american tennis season. I'm going to hold out hope I make it to NYC for at least one match.
Here's your cute for the day...and he even curses! Swoon.

best day ever?
Yes, yes ya'll! We have a winner! And he is the adorable Rafael Nadal. Seven French Opens won - the most in history defeating Bjorn Borg six titles. I woke up early and watched with baited breath until the dreaded "rain delay" happened. But, I should have realized by now that rain delays only help Rafa...mostly because he is like a little rainbow. I was up early to watch today as well, fighting traffic to make it to the office by 7:30 so I could watch. Who knew my little man would crush it so fast? I barely had time to settle in before he won. My problem is I love Novak too - maybe not as intensely as Rafi - but pretty bad. I actually loved watching him throw his racket and beat up his chair. I like fiery emotion. The one thing I didn't like was there were no shots of Carlos Costa until the very end when Raf jumped up in the stands. ESPN/NBC only showed up close face video of Toni, never zooming out for a glimpse of CC. Incredibly sad...but not to fear - this AP photo at least shows the back of his head filled with all that illustrious hair. Sigh. Wimbledon starts at the end of the month, so you'll get a nice tennis reprieve for a couple weeks.
In other news, no it's not Thursday, but my other boy, Karl Lagerfeld was honored in Germany with a wax figure at last week in Hamburg at the St. Pauli Panopticon, the country's oldest wax museum. I'm going to let you figure out which one is which. It's pretty hard to distinguish basically because the real Karl might be made of wax too. I still don't believe he lost 90 lbs eating fish and drinking Diet Coke.
And the piece-de-resistance to a sunny Monday, my favorite summertime drink Bud Light Lime (don't laugh...it's refreshing and delicious) is blowing minds with this new delicious goodness - Bud Lime-a-Rita. BLL and a margarita mixed into one can? Holy amazing. Filthy McNasty - we're going to need about 1000 of these for the beach. Get on it immediately.
Daydreaming about booze, Rafa, and the beach...

happy 26th birthday rafa!
I hope you all celebrated Rafa's birthday better than I did - which was a trip to Target and cleaning my apartment. Yay...happy birthday.
What you can't see in this picture is the Tour de Eiffel on the left hand side which was incidentally cut out. But what you can see is a gorgeous and tan birthday boy and my main man Carlos. God, I love Europeans and their effortless chic-ness.

it's the freakin weekend
The French Open starts tomorrow and do you know who is excited to do nothing but watch tennis this weekend? THIS GIRL. Praise the lord baby jesus NBC and ESPN2 will cover all grunts, sweaty t-shirts, and pouty faces of my boy. Hopefully there will be some glimpses of Carlos Costa. It's been far too long since I've paused the DVR and stared at him for 5 full minutes.

"I hope not sporadically"
Remember that line from Clueless when Cher is asked what she did for the day and she replies "I broke in my new purple clogs"? Well I have big plans tomorrow which include breaking in my new gold jack rogers. I'm very excited about it. Sorry I'm not sorry.
Something else I'm excited about - Rafa beat Djokovic in Rome today. Second win in a row! Next stop, Paris. I was so excited over this win you would think I was the one who actually played and won. The match was delayed by rain yesterday, so while they waited the boys played pool.
I love this picture for many reasons - Uncle Tony's casually draped sweater, Dad's intense mental focus, my sweet boy in his orange with his mummy wrapped fingers, and of course, my main man Carlos Costa patiently waiting his turn looking classic and handsome. I can't even tell you the naughty thoughts I've had of Carlos and I on this pool table. Balls and cue sticks optional. Blue chalk required.

the clouds never expect it when it rains
I apologize for the MIA status for the last 2 weeks. To say things have been bananas would be to put it mildly. First, sadly, I have to report that after 14 amazing years of unconditional love and support my sweet little pooch, Rudy, no longer belongs to this world. It has been incredibly sad - more than I realized it would be - and while at home this weekend the loss was intensified. Her monogrammed dog bed(s) (doesn't every dog need a bed in all corners of the house??) still lay around the house, like my parents hope time will rewind and she will come back. I dropped a cracker on the floor and came so close to calling "rudy" to spare me the energy to bend over and it up. While sad, she went out with a bang as her last meal was a wendy's cheeseburger, french fries and a frosty. However, it was a vanilla frosty because my father couldn't bring himself to buy her a chocolate one...you know cause she could die from too much chocolate. My brother is pushing hard from Australia for my parents to get a pig...and name it Kevin Bacon.
What else did I miss the last two weeks....
*Prince Harry was in DC to receive some award last Monday. It was the same night as the Met Gala. Do you know how hard it was to try and decide between Harry and Anna Wintour? I did what I thought was best...and picked neither and watched Hart of Dixie on my couch.
*I had this brilliant idea that I should just happen to be hanging out at the Ritz in the bar the same time Harry was getting his award. Obviously, my trip to the hotel didn't pan out because I was too busy looking for a helicopter (long story), but when I saw the pictures of the girls standing outside waiting for his arrivals, all I could think of was "Buzz, your girlfriend. WOOOOOF." You all know how I like to play it cool around celebrities (Brangelina, Matthew Perry), but I would have lost my shit for that little redheaded hoodlum and probably ended up on the 6pm news. Thank god he didn't make a trip to the "dump" is all I have to say.
*I really wanted to do a post on the Met Gala, but after looking through 140 pictures of ugly and bizarre, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Sorry I'm not sorry.
*Gay marriage...um, yeah...so that happened. Mazel tov!
*I haven't seen my gym crush/I Spy in 2 weeks. That saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder? Yeah. No.
*Speaking of the gym, a new personal training company is hard core lobbying the building for new clients. They've been in our lobby for a week offering their services, which is very nice and I should definitely sign up, but just can't. Not in the office gym. Not being screamed at in front of ISpy. Well New Girl (or her new name, That One) decided it would be awesome if we signed up for a boot camp. It was all fun and games until I ran into the boot camp instructor. Have you ever seen the movie Major Payne? Well standing before me was Major Benson Winifred Payne complete with camo pants and the tightest camo under armor shirt I have ever seen. He, too, is 6'4, black, bald and looks like he could literally murder me with his pinkie. "Killing is my business and business is good." Ya'll pray for us. We're going to need it.
*Rafael Nadal. Sigh. He's now the world's #3 player. Federer breezed past him to reclaim the #2 spot this weekend after he won the Madrid Open. I don't really have anything to say here, but thought you would want to know.
*Continuing on tennis, I miss Carlos Costa. That is all.
*A word to the wise: If you ever end up at the Rock n' Roll Hotel, which incidentally is not a hotel, do not, and I repeat DO NOT, get the "redrum" drink. There is a reason there is a 2 drink limit and it is called murder backwards because it will murder you. I'm pretty sure they put roofies in it. Or everclear. Same diff.
*And finally, can we talk about what a disaster 95 South is? Why, on Friday, was I the only non-yankee on the road? And why are yankees so aggressive? I'll leave for you to ponder that today.
XO,
Bunny
PS - and just to blow your mind on this rainy Monday morning, I give you this. Good luck trying to rid it from your head. I will spend the morning meetings thinking of dirty things to do with all these boys.

FINALLY
I felt like a proud parent yesterday. I almost started to cry over my joy. After a year full of tough losses and poor playing, my boy Rafa, FINALLY beat Novak Djokovic in the final of the Monte Carlo tournament. Novak's grandfather died during the tournament and watching him during the match you knew he wasn't there mentally. I felt really bad for him.
I hope this win boosts Rafa's self confidence because I cannot endure another season like last year.

Is Carlos looking a touch gaunt in this picture?

why you might ask...
After Rafa's performance last night, I just can't with that kid anymore. He takes all of my patience and just crumples it up and throws it away. I can't even write about the match between him and my homeboy Tsonga. Thank god for the brief shots of Uncle Tony that included my man Carlos Costa...it was the highlight of my night (well after finding out that my gym crush was in the bar last night! And he drinks beer! He's definitely straight, right?).
JESUS I love a man with a sweater over his shoulders. Hell, who am I kidding. Carlos could walk out in a trash bag and I would sweat him like it was my job.

another day...
Another posting from Rafa's facebook which includes another picture of the double C. Little known fact, people who search for Carlos are the top filter on my stats page. See, I'm not the only one who loves him.
His hair is looking so amazing straight and brown. He looks so casual and chic in his little button down and jacket. Why is he so dreamy?? And why did no one gift him to me for my birthday? Devastating.

tennis time
It's so cold outside that when I watch the Australian Open, I long for warm weather, sun...and Carlos Costa. The good news is Rafa has won both of his games so far. The bad news is it's going to be a tough year. The poor guy is never healthy - he's always hurt or his stomach hurts. But with the return of Rafa comes Carlos! And this picture posted on FB Wednesday shows my main man kicked back, relaxing (probably thinking of me) and wearing some kicks with cool laces. I like a man that accessorizes! Because the photo is kind of dark, thanks to microsoft paint, I highlighted CC to make sure you didn't miss him.
There is also a great article, written two weeks ago, on Carlos' day job, working as Rafa's agent at IMF. How cush of a job is that?? Little known fact that he also used to manage Roger Federer.

because I'm sick and not creative today
Because he makes me happy, I give you a special Friday edition of Bunny's Fake Boyfriend.
If you don't think Carlos looks amazingly hot in the above photo, then you should probably kill yourself.

sunshine is calling my name - I hear you now
Awwww...cheer up friend!
But with little news on Rafa, there is even littler news on my main man Carlos. This saddens me to no end. I know he has a 9-5 (though in Spain its more like a 10-1), but I need just a little pick me up from the rain and gloom of dc. And then I found this....
I have NO idea what he says after "hello, I'm carlos costa", but whatever it is, I like it.
I'm off to North Carolina for the wedding of two dear friends, so peace out. I'll holler back Monday, bitches.

I wish I played tennis and needed an agent
Sigh....I haven't written a post about Rafa in weeks. Ok, more like days but it feels like weeks. Today on the FB, "rafa's team" posted this picture of blah, blah, and Carlos Costa. I love a man in loafers and no socks. It's very European to me. All he needs is a sweater around his neck. Carlos is looking tan and delicious here all laid back and relaxed. Look at that hair! Sigh. I'm still so sad he didn't come to Cincinnati.

Bunny

Bare with me for a minute...
It's day 3 of the US Open. Are you watching?? If so, you probably saw a good match (well, an okay match) last night with someone vs. my boy, Rafa. My boy pulled out a win, but it took a long time. As I've been saying for weeks, something is wrong with him. He is sweating too much. He seems to get real depressed half way thru the match. Uncle Tony was interviewed last night about not being with him in Cincinnati, and he said point blank "he played bad". But I promised to ease up on my talk of Rafa...at least in this post...but that doesn't mean I can't talk about Carlos Costa. Well, not so much talk about him as just post pictures. Enjoy!
XOXO,
B
