Is it me or is everyone overly hateful and aggressive today? It's more than the end of a three-day weekend (which was 4 days for me! One of the only great perks of the job)...it's the end of summer and thus the end of slacking off for 3 months straight. Congress is only in session for 8 days in September. Yes...you read that correctly...EIGHT. Don't you want to have their job? So this means that while we might work hard, it's only going to be for 8 days. And with my two day work week this week and my beach trip at the end of the month, I feel that I can find the strength to make it. I know you all are jealous.
Speaking of jealously, the fashion house of Lanvin and adorable pocket designer, Alber Elbaz have teamed up with Laduree to create a limited edition box of macarons (all bubblegum flavored). They hit Paris stores September 25th. I would ask if anyone is over seas to pick me up a box, but bubblegum? I think I'll pass.
I want to put Alber in my pocket and carry him around all day. He's perfection with his little bow ties and ascots. In a recent article in the WSJ Magazine, he was quoted as saying, "Sometimes you don't really need armor to feel protected. Sometimes maybe you need just a chiffon dress to hug you. And if you feel that the dress hugs you and the dress loves you, you feel strong and protected." What a great sentiment.

oh-la-la-la flirted with a cool french dude named Antoine
The sun is shining, there is no humidity, and the panic is starting to build. Yep - it's that time of year again where my board CEOs come to beautiful DC for visits with Hill members. Just 31 members (read: white men) who aren't at all needy or hard to please (read: major sarcasm). Sigh.
But there are a couple of stories that needed attention, so CEOs be damned, I need to blog.
I love this couple. It's very oh-la-la French. I bet they have dirty, filthy sex. Can't wait for this sex tape to make its rounds.
Second, more evidence that my life sucks. Karl Lagerfeld's kitty, Choupette, has 2 maids devoted to her. TWO MAIDS. Please. I can hardly get mine to call me back much less clean my apartment. Not only does the little hairball have staff, she also takes all of her meals with Karl at the table. And, she now has a Twitter account, which is hilarious. Of my favorite tweets, I like the fact that she sleeps in last season's Chanel. As my father always says, "life isn't fair"...I'm starting to get that.
Third, Rafa made it to the French Open semi-finals. He plays fellow Spaniard David Ferrer who has beaten him before. Eeek. Just send him your love and support....and me too. These people will be the death of me.

| I wonder what they are cheers-ing? Perhaps the down fall of the Euro? |
First up, Mary Kate Olsen and her alleged relationship with ex-President Nicholas Sarkozy's brother Olivier Sarkozy. Olivier's ex-wife labeled this relationship, "grotesque". Um...bitch please. This is amazing. Now that Nicky is out of the Palace, she's the new Carla Bruni. It's so very 'Le Divorce' starring Kate Hudson and a red Hermes Kelly bag. MK, best known in Bunny world for her award winning song, "Brother for Sale, only $.50", has even dyed her hair brown to appear more grown up and sophisticated.

"I don't speak common" - The Dutchess
I don't even eat at McDonald's (well, not anymore since someone told me about pink slime), but I gotta tell you this new sandwich in France is so cute, I'd eat it. McBaguette? Precious. And fyi, the last time I was in Paris, the line for McDoos (as it's pronounced there) was out the door...and not even americans.

I dreamed a dream...
Holler! Oh ya'll, mama is tired. On my way back from NC, I stopped in the RIC for the night - and I'm not sure what I ate, but I had the weirdest dream.
I dreamt that a gentleman in a gray fitted suit with a black tie was on the roof of my office building. For some reason, I was also on the roof. He was pacing back and forth, very agitated. He glanced back at me, winked, and then jumped off. I ran over to the side to look down, but it was no longer my building - it was the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. I started screaming for someone to help him, but he had disappeared. I turned around and started running down the circular stairs, but when I got to the bottom, it opened into a chic Parisian cafe with red velvet lined walls. I told the maitre d' that I was looking for my brother, but he sat me with George Clooney, who's hair was more salt than pepper. That's all I remember.
Normally, I don't remember my dreams or I'll only remember bits of it so it never makes sense, like this one. But there is suicide, there is Paris, and there is George Clooney as my brother. The great hambino looks nothing like GC. NOTHING. And let me say that I've met George Clooney before, ridden in an elevator with him, and while he is attractive in movies and in pictures, he is nothing to dream about - but that's just me.
So for all those psych majors, please tell me what the hell it means.

what's pink and green with envy?
Are you as jealous as I am that you weren't born to Carla Bruni and Nicholas Sarkozy? Not only would you grow up in Paris, live in the Elysee Palace (for awhile), and have a killer wardrobe but you would probably inherit Carla's disgustingly amazing cheek bones. Maybe Karl will be the godfather. Uh...life just isn't fair....but congratulations to the President and Carla. Suri has already updated her burn book...watch your back un petit bebe.

a couple of things...
* First and most important: can someone please make Olivia Palmero disappear? She's been in NY society since before "the city" and has never changed her image. Her background is suspect and now she is starting her own website. The only thing she has going for her is her hot boyfriend and I'm pretty sure she pays him to hang around.
* If you love classic, preppy clothes please check out the Christian Dior show during Paris fashion week. MAJOR. BANANAS. DEAD. http://www.style.com/
* FLOTUS (Michelle Obama) stopped by an Alexandria Target to do a bit of shopping. I don't really mind this because I already fine-tooth combed the bitch for Missoni and found nothing. But, this Target is already over crowded at best and now that people know MO stopped by, I can imagine it will be a nightmare. Thanks a lot.
* I haven't even seen the show "Whitney", but I hate it. She's making people think that Whitneys are not funny and we all know that is NOT true.
* Shows to set your DVR to record for the season: Revenge, The Good Wife, The Secret Circle, Modern Family (natch), Happy Endings (its back!!).
