chanel - o

I was sitting around yesterday after viewing the Chanel show praying that someone would highlight the amazeball accessories so I could do a post. And last night my prayers were answered. Fashionista posted close up pics of all the deliciousness and while I'm not sure that Karl created these or if his accessories department did, I'm giving him all the credit. Shall we see what I'll be jonesing for come February?

I'm going to hit you first thing first with my FAVORITE piece. One, j'adore the color. Two, lego inspired? Yes please! Karl, you fucking genius you, this has me written all over it. Is that a button in the middle to open it? Like a secret treasure?

Next up, the crazy hula-hoop bag. I know what you are thinking, but haters gonna hate. Redirect your hate towards something else. This is innovative, adorable, and totally made me dead. I want the large version for my beach bag and the red one for everyday. TGD - this is calling your name!

Karl was obsessed with pearls this time around. I was with him until he started pulling out the jean dress  with pearls glued across the top. Yuck was the only word I conjured up. The third necklace down is straight up murder.

And finally, the 80s throw back to Rubik cube inspired quilted bag. Very United Colors of Benetton.

I love them all Karl...almost as much as I love you.

fyi...I hate Lena Dunham

After a late summer beach trip, I just can't get into the bitchy mcsnotty this Monday, even after the Emmys. But I feel I need to share my thoughts, so here are a couple.  First, I loved all the bright dress colors. Second, I think we all can agree Heidi Klum is bananas beautiful and the aqua color looked flawless on her. Even after the whole Angelina Jolie-slit debacle she chose to pull off a risky slit and it worked.

Third, the big talk of the night was the red heads taking charge! And by "all the talk", I mean talking to myself in my living room. Louis CK, Damian Lewis, Julianne Moore doing work.

God, how much do we love this red headed terrorist?!?
PS. Homeland starts next weekend! Sqeelsoexcited!
Thoughts on JM's dress? I thought it was murder.death.kill but mostly because
I wouldn't/couldn't be caught dead in yellow.
It makes me look a little heppy B.
Christina Hendrick's boobs were out of control, I thought Ashley Judd looked ridiculous, I loved Portia deRossi's pantsuit, and I am slowly starting to hate Julianna Margulies. But all that is sound and fury signifying nothing after you see this...
GODDDDDDDAMNNNNN.

end of summer blues

Is it me or is everyone overly hateful and aggressive today? It's more than the end of a three-day weekend (which was 4 days for me! One of the only great perks of the job)...it's the end of summer and thus the end of slacking off for 3 months straight.  Congress is only in session for 8 days in September. Yes...you read that correctly...EIGHT. Don't you want to have their job? So this means that while we might work hard, it's only going to be for 8 days. And with my two day work week this week and my beach trip at the end of the month, I feel that I can find the strength to make it. I know you all are jealous.

Speaking of jealously, the fashion house of Lanvin and adorable pocket designer, Alber Elbaz have teamed up with Laduree to create a limited edition box of macarons (all bubblegum flavored). They hit Paris stores September 25th. I would ask if anyone is over seas to pick me up a box, but bubblegum? I think I'll pass.
I want to put Alber in my pocket and carry him around all day. He's perfection with his little bow ties and ascots. In a recent article in the WSJ Magazine, he was quoted as saying, "Sometimes you don't really need armor to feel protected. Sometimes maybe you need just a chiffon dress to hug you. And if you feel that the dress hugs you and the dress loves you, you feel strong and protected." What a great sentiment.

"I got paid $10 a day not to wear ruffles or eat Ruffles"

What do you get when you take a shit ton of left over Laura Ashley print, a pair of scissors and an over-zealous-with-frills designer? You get the Giambattista Valli fall couture collection of course. Holy goodness y'all. The ruffles on these dresses are Out. Of. Control. The problem is, I love almost all of it. Even with the obscene height of some of the shoulders. All are perfectly executed and designed. I also love the use of fair skinned models. I think I even caught some red heads in there! The Style.com paragraph on it says: "Giambattista Valli spun a bucolic back story for his Couture collection: nymphs, fairies, silvery reflections in woodland ponds. And the Master's Margarita, witchy and wanton in her dealings with the devil." That's cute and all, but I like my Laura Ashley reference better. What do you think?

Perfection.

I want this for my closet. Where I would wear it, who knows. But how stunning would this be with my hair??

This makes her look like her vagina is on fire.
Looks like G has been watching too many clips of the "jesus christ lizard"

So very Scarlett O'Hara 2012, am I right?

"In fashion, the future is six months" - KL

OOOH - Karl made some pretties when I was lounging on the beach.  I love this 2012 Fall Couture collection. It's ethereal and business all mixed into one. It's a lot of boucle - which is what the house of Chanel is known for - and it's all beautiful. Fall looks to be classic and refined with shiny tights. The only "ehhh" of the collection is the weird pink puff ball dress. I think that Karl just gave up on that one. There is no other explanation for it...unless he was thinking you could wear it as a fancy night gown. It even comes with a matching night cap.

Sigh - the bows as sleeves on the grey dress murder me. LOVE. Check out the whole collection at Style.

oh christ no

Ladies and gentlemen, apparently Willow Smith didn't read my previous post regarding her fashion attire. What in the god's name hell is this? And how did Will and Jada look at her and both decide that she looked okay enough to a. leave the house, b. be seen in public at a movie opening knowing full well there would be photographic evidence of this monstrosity?

Nevermind. Looking at their attire, Will and Jada didn't think anything of their poorly dressed offspring. This is a family of delusion. I can tell by their goofy looks that they all think "I'm the shit". Jayden always looks like he's 30 seconds from bursting into tears. I would cry too if I was wearing a ratty jean jacket with spiked shoulder pads. Lord - I hope he doesn't shrug his shoulders.

However, I will give credit when credit is due - Willow is throwing some mad eye sex around. She's a little young, but it takes awhile to prefect the perfect eye fuck.

"but I thought the devil wore prada"

Anna Wintour was on Stephen Colbert last night, and in a word, she was delightful. The thought of her eating french fries from Long John Silver has made my day.

"I yelled to the cabbie, yo holmes smell you later"

Do you think that the Smith-Pinkett family have mirrors in their house? They really need to invest in a stylist. This is an abomination.

FYI: less is more...and Willow, lose the Debbie Gibson hat. It does nothing for you other than show off your father's ears.

don't make me sad, don't make me cry

Full disclosure: my lenten objectives are being X'ed slowly but surely. I'm down to two. I'll let you guess which ones. Annnnnd I am sick. AGAIN. I got 3 hours of sleep last night and there was no Australian Open on (read: Rafa, Carlos Costa) to keep me entertained. It's obvious that I am dying...that my body is rebelling and is slowly killing me. The only thing even remotely bright on the horizon was the Chanel show that walked this morning in Paris. I'm not going to let it depress me that A. I wasn't in Paris or B. am still not friends with Karl or C. this fucking kid is back in my life. Instead, I'm going to look at these amazeball outfits and dream about that black Amex that still has yet to arrive (with someone paying the tab)....

Even if you don't like Karl, you have to give him props for his creativity. I can't imagine creating all these outfits for multiple lines which are all so different. When we last left off, Karl was imagining what it was like to have dinner in India. Now, Karl is on Mars. Actually, I don't know where in the world he thinks he is, but the makeup on the models is god awful. Thank goodness the clothes make up for it and the shoes are MDK.

Looks very Lisa Bonet in a Cosby Show.

My favorite - a dress, pants and a scarf? YES PLEASE.

Hudson thinks he is the shit. Is it not enough that his parents are gorgeous, he has to be friends and WALK in Karl's show?
Ugh...with his cute little hair and even cute mini-Chanel bag. Makes me sick.

fashionable friday

It's doom and gloom outside, so sit back, look at some pretty and have your 401k company on speed dial - because I'm about to blow your minds and your wallets.

First up. the Christian Dior show. Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is how you do a peplum that everyone can wear. From the great belt to the bedazzled top, the dress is amazing. I loved everything in this show, but pulled my favorites for you to peruse.

Now to the good stuff.  Pierre Hardy, not to be confused with Ed Hardy or Tom Hardy, is the Hermes jeweler...and we LOVE him. Good ole Pierre was obviously bored one day and decided that spending $25K for a crocodile birkin was for peasants. So he created a jeweled version of the iconic Kelly bag made from 11,000 diamonds...that's basically big enough to hold your cell phone. Of course, I want/need this bag immediately. Sales are confined to 12 bags and with the price tag of 1.5 million euros each (that's like a bijillion american bucks), I'm not sure who will actually purchase them. This is one of the occasions when I wish I was famous and could wear this bag (complete with body guard) to some awards show or to lunch at the Ivy. Just another occasion when I wish the dollar was stronger than the euro. Le sigh...

XOXO,
Bisous
