post - thanksgiving turkey

One of my bosses has been out of the office for paternity leave of his first child. It's great in so many ways - first, the baby is adorable but, more importantly, he's out of the office and leaves me alone. However, he has learned to work his new iphone and now knows how to text. So when he's home laying on the couch he texts me piddly little stuff....like "the guy on channel 4 looks like a guy you'd like" or "did you watch Marco Rubio on cspan tonight" or tries to get caught up on the goldman/ispy saga. But in the middle of the mindless back and forth he mentioned a show he'd come across that he couldn't stop watching. I held my breath for a minute, kind-of sort-of hoping he would be talking about the new show I was obsessed with but couldn't talk/admit to anyone I was watching because it is that bad. And guess what...it was. He very stupidly asked..."do you know this show 'made in chelsea'?" Um...hell yeah I do! If you are not watching you are missing out. Let me run down the deets before I hit you with the good stuff....Monday nights (yay!), 2 one-hour episodes, style network, 8-10pm ET. It's a poor mans version of The Hills set in England. Tonight will be episodes 5 and 6. Don't worry though...you can get caught up pretty easily.

The cast of characters:

Caggie:
She is basically the English Lauren Conrad. The show loosely revolves around her and her friends who she might have said 'hi' to a time or two and now does a whole show with them. She is a makeup artist or something, she is the one person you have to have at a party, she sings, she has a raspy voice, and is totally in love with...

Spencer:
Ladies, I do not get it. Spencer gets some major tail in this show and I think he's a total douche bag. Update: when researching Spence, I came across that he is the heir to the Eden Rock Hotel. Now I get it. And now I want him too.

Spencer and Caggie have known each other FOREVER - since they were 18 (which for those counting at home is like 3 years ago) - and there has always been this attraction, but the other one is always tied down when one becomes available. So they have suffered in strife for YEARS. But even though Spencer is shacking with someone and has a happy life, Caggie just feels the need to bat her eyes at him. Thing is...he feels the same. You know who doesn't feel the same and who constantly calls out Caggie? Spencer's live in girlfriend...FUNDA. She is some sort of model/dancer and carries around a small, ugly dog. She's super boring and will not be getting her picture posted. Which leads us to Spencer's best friend...

Hugo:
WHEW LORD. Hugo is where it's at. I know the picture isn't giving you much, but watch the show for 10 minutes and try to tell me he isn't the best person on the show. We love Hugo because 1. He calls Spencer out on his shit and for being a dick to Caggie and Funda. 2. He tries to hook Caggie up with other guys to get her mind off Spencer. 3. He's really cute. Like really cute. Currently, at this present episode, he is dating...

Millie:
I approve of this relationship between Hugo and Millie because they are cute together, they have crazy sexual tension, and her real name is Camilla. Millie is besties with Caggie. They hang around all day with each other because no one has real jobs on this show. They drink bloodies and gossip all the live long day. I want to go to there. Millie is having a show down with her friend who also likes Hugo....

Rosie:
Rosie is a sweet girl and does have a job. It's not really her fault that Hugo throws eyes at her. Who could resist him? Rosie looks really good in the picture. On the show though, not so much. She's very pale with super red lips. She has a dog who she takes to a pet shrink who asks "when was she last mounted?". True story. She doesn't offer much except for this 3way. She is friends with....

Cheska:
Short for Francheska. She runs a blog or writes for a magazine or something. She reminds me of a young Camilla Parker Bowles. I'm normally distracted by her roots and her raspy voice. She doesn't offer much either, except that she is friends with....

Binky:
Ya'll. This bitch's name is Binky. B-I-N-K-Y. I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am that my name isn't Binky. I have half a mind to go get knocked up and name my first born Elizabeth and call her/him Binky. It is so major.

Binks is a free spirit. She and Cheska just hang out, shop, and travel on the fly to Chamonix to hang in onesies and drink champagne. We LOVE her. Which leads us to her best friend....

Ollie:
Obviously, I saved the best for last. Oh...Ollie. What's to say about good ole Ols? Well, when we first meet him...in the first 5 minutes of episode 1...he is standing outside of a club with a clip board. He is in the tightest jeans known to man and he's flipping his girl hair all over the place. After awhile, we meet his girlfriend, Gabriella. Yeah...I said girlfriend. Not like heyyyy girlfriend, but like going to pound town girlfriend. She is hopelessly in love with him and wants to do nothing but cuddle and profess love all day long. He looks like he's in pain every time she opens her mouth (which, side note: what's with her bite? It's like her jaw doesn't close right.) It takes 4 episodes (FOUR) for him to SPOILER ALERT: come out. Listen. If you didn't figure that out in the first 5 minutes, there is something wrong with you. Just wait till the Chamonix episode and his ski outfit.

There are about 45 other people in this show including Francis the polo-playing entrepreneur, Fredrik the model who wears nothing but spandex and rows, and Francis' ridiculously good looking Sweedish intern who throws herself at him but he resists to pick up ugly girls at an art gallery. I would write about them, but this post has already spanned into 3 hours.

Hope you all will watch tonight and be ready to discuss tomorrow!

a case of the mondays

Goodness gracious. Mondays are the worst. All you want to do is leisurely break into the day, maybe hit up lunch early...stay longer than usual, hit the afternoon meetings and then head the hell home. But noooo. This Monday meant it. Maybe it was to get back at me complaining about not working for the past 6 weeks. Whatever it was, I'm over it.

Lots to talk about. LOTS. First, this is the best time of the year - apple cider, leaves turning, and the tv shows are back (though Honey Boo Boo is over. Sad face like for reals)! Second, Anne Hathaway got married this weekend. Third, Lindsey Lohan was choked. While I shouldn't joke about that, it is so justifiable that I don't think anyone will hate on me.

So many new tv shows last night to count, but on Thursday Scandal was back. I have to admit, even though it is flawed, I really was looking forward to the premier. First, ABC needs to realize that no one cares about the Quinn story line. She is the worst actress in all of the actresses in all of the entire world. The pits. Miserable. Trash. Think of a couple more adjectives for awful and you will get the picture. Making up for her miserable excuse as a human being, is President Tony Goldwyn. Man, he is so good looking I can barely follow what is being said when he is on screen. Olivia keeps running around doing her weird walking, the cameraman is still having a stroke, and the FLOTUS is preggers and wants to paint the nursery in blood red. Congratulations, I think you might raise a serial killer. Paint it green or yellow. Hell, I'd even do an orange before red.

The Good Wife also premiered. Nothing really new to report...Alicia is still cold, Kalinda is still a weirdo bi-sexual wearing skirts, boots and leather moto jackets (CBS, I beg of you. PLEASE change her outfit. XO - the whole wide world), and Will is looking botoxed to hell, but adorable.

HOMELAND. Ya'll, I can't even tell you how excited I was for this premier. I don't want to spoil it for people who don't have the tv watching stamina I posses, so I'll keep it short and simple. We're back after, what 6 months? I couldn't figure out the timeline. Brody is now a congressman (lord, can you imagine the nut job of a boss he would be?), Saul is in Beirut, and Carrie is living with her sister and trying to get back on her feet after being booted from the CIA. She's called back to help with an asset and as such she needs to dye her hair brown. I got to tell you, this was the most disturbing thing of the episode. Claire is so a summer. This was mostly a catch up episode so not much happened, though I did have one "oooohhhh shittttt" moment. Speaking of shits - that daughter of Brody's needs to be disciplined. And hard. If I had spoken to my mother the way she speaks to hers, I would have had my throat ripped out through the skin. You think I'm kidding, but I couldn't more serious. Heart attack serious.

Now...onto Anne Hathaway. Ya'll know I hate her right? Like irrationally hate her. I think it's because of her lips. Or maybe it's her nose. Or maybe it's because she's the most annoying person on the face of the earth. (ok...maybe second behind my sister) My tanned, yacht owning, South of France sailing, friend Valentino let it slip a couple weeks ago that he designed the dress. I wonder if he's taking responsibility for that awful head gear?

I think poor Anne is going to look back and wish she had gotten some extensions for her awful hair. Or at least have waited another 6 months to let it grow in more. And is it me, or is that dress have a pink hue to it? I mean, we all know she isn't a virgin, but damn A, you don't have to parade it around. Personally, I want my dress tinted blue. Very light so that after I walk by you squinch your nose up and say "is that dress blue or white?" Always leave them guessing...
So now I'm guessing that Valentino has finally succumbed to sun poisoning and it's seeped into his brain. That's the only thing that can account for this monstrosity of a dress. I gotta say, it just makes me dislike her more.

Happy monday!

B

fyi...I hate Lena Dunham

After a late summer beach trip, I just can't get into the bitchy mcsnotty this Monday, even after the Emmys. But I feel I need to share my thoughts, so here are a couple.  First, I loved all the bright dress colors. Second, I think we all can agree Heidi Klum is bananas beautiful and the aqua color looked flawless on her. Even after the whole Angelina Jolie-slit debacle she chose to pull off a risky slit and it worked.

Third, the big talk of the night was the red heads taking charge! And by "all the talk", I mean talking to myself in my living room. Louis CK, Damian Lewis, Julianne Moore doing work.

God, how much do we love this red headed terrorist?!?
PS. Homeland starts next weekend! Sqeelsoexcited!
Thoughts on JM's dress? I thought it was murder.death.kill but mostly because
I wouldn't/couldn't be caught dead in yellow.
It makes me look a little heppy B.
Christina Hendrick's boobs were out of control, I thought Ashley Judd looked ridiculous, I loved Portia deRossi's pantsuit, and I am slowly starting to hate Julianna Margulies. But all that is sound and fury signifying nothing after you see this...
GODDDDDDDAMNNNNN.

B

the clouds never expect it when it rains

I apologize for the MIA status for the last 2 weeks. To say things have been bananas would be to put it mildly. First, sadly, I have to report that after 14 amazing years of unconditional love and support my sweet little pooch, Rudy, no longer belongs to this world. It has been incredibly sad - more than I realized it would be - and while at home this weekend the loss was intensified. Her monogrammed dog bed(s) (doesn't every dog need a bed in all corners of the house??) still lay around the house, like my parents hope time will rewind and she will come back. I dropped a cracker on the floor and came so close to calling "rudy" to spare me the energy to bend over and it up. While sad, she went out with a bang as her last meal was a wendy's cheeseburger, french fries and a frosty. However, it was a vanilla frosty because my father couldn't bring himself to buy her a chocolate one...you know cause she could die from too much chocolate. My brother is pushing hard from Australia for my parents to get a pig...and name it Kevin Bacon.

What else did I miss the last two weeks....

*Prince Harry was in DC to receive some award last Monday. It was the same night as the Met Gala. Do you know how hard it was to try and decide between Harry and Anna Wintour? I did what I thought was best...and picked neither and watched Hart of Dixie on my couch.

*I had this brilliant idea that I should just happen to be hanging out at the Ritz in the bar the same time Harry was getting his award. Obviously, my trip to the hotel didn't pan out because I was too busy looking for a helicopter (long story), but when I saw the pictures of the girls standing outside waiting for his arrivals, all I could think of was "Buzz, your girlfriend. WOOOOOF." You all know how I like to play it cool around celebrities (Brangelina, Matthew Perry), but I would have lost my shit for that little redheaded hoodlum and probably ended up on the 6pm news. Thank god he didn't make a trip to the "dump" is all I have to say.

*I really wanted to do a post on the Met Gala, but after looking through 140 pictures of ugly and bizarre, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Sorry I'm not sorry.

*Gay marriage...um, yeah...so that happened. Mazel tov!

*I haven't seen my gym crush/I Spy in 2 weeks. That saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder? Yeah. No.

*Speaking of the gym, a new personal training company is hard core lobbying the building for new clients. They've been in our lobby for a week offering their services, which is very nice and I should definitely sign up, but just can't. Not in the office gym. Not being screamed at in front of ISpy. Well New Girl (or her new name, That One) decided it would be awesome if we signed up for a boot camp. It was all fun and games until I ran into the boot camp instructor. Have you ever seen the movie Major Payne? Well standing before me was Major Benson Winifred Payne complete with camo pants and the tightest camo under armor shirt I have ever seen. He, too, is 6'4, black, bald and looks like he could literally murder me with his pinkie. "Killing is my business and business is good." Ya'll pray for us. We're going to need it.

*Rafael Nadal. Sigh. He's now the world's #3 player. Federer breezed past him to reclaim the #2 spot this weekend after he won the Madrid Open. I don't really have anything to say here, but thought you would want to know.

*Continuing on tennis, I miss Carlos Costa. That is all.

*A word to the wise: If you ever end up at the Rock n' Roll Hotel, which incidentally is not a hotel, do not, and I repeat DO NOT, get the "redrum" drink. There is a reason there is a 2 drink limit and it is called murder backwards because it will murder you. I'm pretty sure they put roofies in it. Or everclear. Same diff.

*And finally, can we talk about what a disaster 95 South is? Why, on Friday, was I the only non-yankee on the road? And why are yankees so aggressive? I'll leave for you to ponder that today.

XO,
Bunny

PS - and just to blow your mind on this rainy Monday morning, I give you this. Good luck trying to rid it from your head. I will spend the morning meetings thinking of dirty things to do with all these boys.

hell hath no fury like a woman scorned

While I still stand behind my assessment on the first episode of Scandal, the third episode was better than I was expecting. I'm not saying it's the most amazing show on tv or anything, but the last couple of minutes on the show I was literally saying out loud "I did NOT see that coming".

ABC ran the second episode a week early on their website which means I have completely forgotten about what I watched 2 weeks ago, but I remember not hating it as much as the first one.  Yes - there is still too much talking. Too, too much. The walk-and-talk-like-the-west-wing doesn't work so much because Kerry Washington tries to cat-walk instead of walk-walk. The camera man has to be in love with KW because his up-close-and-personal camera angles are not really flattering, more stalkerish than anything.  He also has some weird fetish about filming through a prismed glass. The new girl, who we finally learned is named Quin, is extra baggage and if ABC knew anything they should cut her immediately.

Sigh. There are good parts of the show, though I'm not sure they outweigh the bad. The A story line is always a struggle to get through. The B story line, which involves President Tony Goldwyn, however, is heating up. (Sorry, I don't actually know his show name). Whoowhee.  Maybe it's because he is deliciously hot, maybe it's because he is deliciously flawed - I don't know, but last night's episode was potus centric and I did not mind it at all.

How come when a woman loves a man she can't have it's seen as sad and pathetic. But when a man loves a woman the same way, we all say "awww...that's precious"?  Is it because men don't have feelings so when they do exhibit any human emotion all women are supposed to swoon? I'm off on a tangent, I know, but I recommend you watch the latest installment of Scandal. If not for the rug being pulled out in the last 45 seconds of the show, then watch just for the close ups of my vote for the 2012 election....President Tony. Bumper stickers and t-shirts will be available shortly.

Bunny loves President Tony

the tell was he called her sweet baby

SPOILER ALERT. I am about to critique the new ABC show, Scandal. If you saw it, feel free to chime in. If you didn't but are going to, then stop reading and read after you watch.

If you don't live under a rock, then you will know that ABC has been promoting the hell out of this show. It showed a lot of promise - DC, scandals, the president - all things I very much enjoy. And it's from the lady who wrote Grey's Anatomy, which when it started was a good show. Now...well, not so much.

I kept a written train of thought while watching, and while usually that means bullet points and crazy thoughts, I apparently was filled with lots of emotion and opinions, because there is a whole written diary on the first episode.

Where to start....where to start?  Well, for one, there is TOO MUCH TALKING. I instantly feel that I've been transformed back to watching the West Wing, except I like WW and this is grating on my nerves. It's like Aaron Sorkin-esque, but not as well written.  We are thrown into the show in a crowded DC bar. A girl wearing what Hollywood thinks is DC attire walks to the bar and to tell a hot guy that she isn't staying because she doesn't do "blind dates". I can tell the audience already hates her (read: me) because 1. her outfit is atrocious and 2. she's not attractive and therefore should be snubbing her nose at a blind date, especially a good looking, well dressed blind date. She's told this isn't a blind date, but more so a job interview. We have yet to know her name, her current occupation, and why she has applied for a new job. The words "Olivia Pope" are mentioned and the poor girl goes catatonic, almost foaming at the mouth. She's hired (what her credentials are, we have no idea, because they have yet to tell us) and whisked away because she starts right this minute...at 7pm. The only thing we are told of this girl is that her awful outfit shows way too much cleavage, which in DC there is a fine line between "appropriate" and "intern attire" (as all girls on the hill nod and say "true that").

Enter Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope. Her hair instantly distracts me. She is a beautiful woman, but the side bang she's rocking highlight her incredibly large forehead. I find myself trying to brush the bangs over as she's on-screen, and only towards the end of the show does my magic start to work. There is A LOT of walking and talking, something about a baby and $3 million dollars and her gut. She also calls out the new girl for showing too much chest. Even though she is poorly dressed, she is not showing too much skin.  I'm 8 minutes into this show and I'm exhausted and starting to hate it...this is not good.

I'm not sure what kind of business Olivia runs, because she makes a point to say they aren't a law firm, but they are lawyers. There is hot random black guy, mexican IT guy who was in Weeds and was a drug dealer, random guy from LOST (which reminded me how much I hated that show), and some red headed chick who makes a point of saying 10 minutes into the show that she hates republicans. Fantastic. I should point out that said republican hating red head is wearing white hose. Not leggings - panty hose. Isn't there some line about stones and glass houses?

Enter the client...it's Dr.  Judson for all you Hart of Dixie fans...covered in blood. His girlfriend has been shot in the head 3 times. His alibi is weak at best and he knows he is going to be arrested. Let me say that compared to the other losers on this show, his hotness is distracting. He's a decorated war hero, he's a powerful speaker for the far right wing, and he swears he didn't do it. Olivia believes him because her "gut" tells her so. Um, Liv, maybe it's heartburn.

Someone says blah, someone else says blah and 10 people died of boredom. And thennnnnn I remembered why I wanted to watch this show....TONY GOLDWYN. Damn ya'll, I really do have a type. I need help. Tony plays the President of the United States. I'm instantly alert and back into the show and wondering why none of the current presidential nominees look like him. Tony is in search of a PR person too because it looks like he's been naughty (very into this show now). His affair-e is threatening to make the story public. Olivia is "hired" because she used to work for potus and believes in him. The girl in affair - question is the same girl that outed Leo McGarry as a drunk on the west wing. We hate her. (Side note: Joshua Malina, also of the WW is also on this show. Someone let me know when Bradley Whitford appears). Olivia comes off a little too harsh, showing a little too much emotion on the accused girl in front of her new protege (whose name we still don't know) and I instantly know where this whole episode is headed. I could have written this in my sleep. It's amateur at best....but we are only half way through. At 45 minutes in and I find myself saying out loud "holy shit balls this is awful."

I'll leave the rest for you to watch, but I'm on the fence if I will give this show a second watch, even with the hottest potus known to man. There is too much talking, the camera work makes me think I'm having a seizure and coupled with the white hose, no makeup, ugly people, and a weird story, I just don't see me putting in the effort.  But, if given a choice between doing the right thing and sleeping with President Tony Goldwyn....well, hell, I guess get me a beret and a cigar and call me Monica.

XOXO,
Bunny Goldwyn

a case of the mondays

Well, I don't know about ya'll, but I definitely need another 24 hours of a weekend to make it through this monday. I've been to Starbs and to the cafe downstairs for coffee and am contemplating drinking the diet sunkist in front of me. Nothing is helping. Even the thought of seeing my gym crush tonight isn't pulling me through. And on the subject of gym crush, "I Spy", I now know he works at Goldman Sachs.  Thoughts on this? Cause now I'm convinced he's a dick just like all the other Goldman guys and our love affair is now over.

Speaking of love affairs that are now over, The Killing and Game of Thrones were back for their second seasons last night. As I stated before, I didn't watch The Killing, because in the end - after the 13 miserable hours - I realized I didn't give two shits about who killed Rosie Larsen. She was obviously a tramp, running around whoring herself out for shoes and casino chips. She should know better...you should only whore yourself out for furs, jewels or stock options...like a lady.

Game of Thrones did a nice job of trying to bring you back into the story, but bad luck for them, I'm just over it. I was with them for the first 45 minutes, but then it all went down hill when they started eliminating any possible offspring of the king. And, in my obsession with The Wire, can anyone get over the fact that Mayor Carcetti is on this show? I only see him as that and I hated him on that show and I hate him on this show.

Mad Men was great. A fat Betty? In a pink, quilted house coat sitting on the couch eating Bugles...I loved every minute of it. I still can't decide if January Jones is a great actress or just so boring all she can do is blink and nod to come off as listening. I feel bad for her politic man...he had no idea what he was entering into. What did you think about her house furnishings? I thought they were creepy to match the exterior of the manse. And do we know what the baby Draper was named? PS - I hate the "new" Harry Crane. He needs to disappear and quick.

for the love of god - its zou bisou NOT zoo be zoo

If I read one more Mad Men recap that calls the French song Megan sang, "Zoo Be Zoo", I am going to SCREAM.

Well ya'll, Mad Men is back. How long has it been? It seems like eternity...and I for one met last night's episode with mixed emotions. Part of me was glad the show was back, but once it started it felt like my soul was slowly being sucked out. Back to the monotony of Sterling Cooper Draper Price. Back to the repressed issues of all the characters. Back to the drinking and the smoking and the sex. Actually, I like the sex and the drinking.

The theme of this episode to me seemed that everyone was basically miserable inside.  Don, while married to a hot little girl, still hates himself. Lane, who I thought was adorable in his conversation with Joan, has his wife and child in America yet was drawn to a picture of a woman in a wallet. Watching him have the phone conversation with the "woman from the wallet" was painful and made my skin crawl.  Roger is also married to a hot little girl, but is miserable because his professional career is flailing and his wife isn't smart and is quite boring. Peggy is still Peggy - working hard for that money, but at what cost. Megan Draper tries to be positive and perfect, but deep down I think she is starting to question if she made the right choice marrying Don. Joan is post-partum with her nagging mother hitting on the help. She is miserable thinking  the one thing that made her Joan might have disappeared while she was having her bundle of joy. Oh...and then there is Peter Campbell. He is miserable at home, he is miserable at work. If there was ever a character I wanted to punch in the throat, it's him. He is a whiny, spoiled brat and that means something coming from a whiny, spoiled brat.

Despite all of the miserableness, it looks like everyone is moving on up to the east side. Don has a great new, modern apartment with white carpet. Betty has a new mansion with her political husband ("Say hi to Morticia and Lurch for me."). And Peter Campbell looks like he has assumed the Don Draper house of 5 seasons ago complete with train ride and train-wreck-ish wooden paneled cabinets. Really, those cabinets are horrible.

I'm interested to see where the rest of the season will go from here. Jon Hamm gave an interview a couple of months ago that hinted that maybe there would be some Don/Joan action this season which will sure make for some great tv involving Roger. Everything that came out of his mouth last night was hilarious. I especially loved when he asked his wife why she didn't speak french to him and she responded promptly because he didn't look like Don.  Oh Don Draper...would he have gotten half as far in life if he was ugly?

XO,
Bunny

PS - Did you see the way AMC ran a million "The Killing" previews for next week? HA! AMC...you are hilarious. Like anyone is tuning into that piece of shit just for you to pull the rug out again after I watch 13 hours of NOTHING.

PPS - Matthew Perry was on the Good Wife last night looking a lot better than when I last saw him in July. I'm not sure if it was a lot of make up and some botox or a lot of botox and a lot of make up, but he looked good. I hope they have him back. Per usual, Josh Charles was hot as hell.

warren buffet pays 17% tax while the rest of us are in the 30% range. chew on that.

Happy start of NYC Fashion week! I hope to do better than the Paris fashion week on reports. But don't hold your breath.

Because I'm 170 years old, I watched CBS' person to person last night. Did anyone watch? If you didn't, I'll paint the scene. Charlie Rose, whom I now love, and Lara Logan sit back in big, comfy chairs while stars walk through their home with a camera being peppered with questions. Last night they visited George Clooney, Warren Buffet and Jon Bon Jovi. I know what you are thinking and yes, Bon Jovi IS still alive and unfortunately he DOES still live in New Jersey. Contain your retching.

First thing first, as much as I want to dislike him, I really do love George Clooney. My dislikes are mostly about his love of the wax skeleton Brad Pitt and his political views - not that he has them, but that he won't shut up about them.  He proudly displayed  pictures of he and Obama chillin' in the Oval only days after Obama had taken office (the signature read - thanks for the friendship (GAG)) and a large Shepard Fairey picture of "hope". But no matter what he says, he comes off as just a nice, down to earth, goofy guy.  And I love that he adopted a black cocker spaniel. If my black cocker continues with her attitude of "it's-too-much-energy-to-go-outside-to-use-the-bathroom-I'll-just-go-here", George might get another one on his door step and a bill to clean my sisal rug which she has destroyed.

Next up was Warren Buffet. How fucking cute is he? ADORABLE. I want to make him a pocket person and keep him on my desk. Maybe dress him up in festive holiday attire....bowties, hats, leprechan outfits. He is so unassuming and down to earth...stealing ties from his bestie, Jay Z. For his company, Berkshire Hathaway, to be trading at $118K A SHARE the offices of BH are a dump. Maybe that is why the stock is down almost $600 today...people hate ratty carpet. And his personal office is so sad looking. I mean, I know its Nebraska and all, but jeeze. Maybe he should replaced his kids photos with a nice colorful Rothko. Just saying.
I guess not all of us can have the same view I have....sigh.
XOXO,
Bunny

what happened to andrae?

What do you get when you take a group of 3rd place losers, give them some needles, thread, a hot glue gun and stick them in a penthouse suite in ny? Project Runway All Stars.
I used to be a huge fan of PR when it first started and was on bravo before they destroyed it by moving it to lifetime. Bad move Andy Cohen. You should have quit following all those dumb housewives and invested  more in Tim and Heidi.

I saw previews for the show over christmas and became really excited, thinking they would have some great past contestants on the new show. Well...ehhh...I mean, okay.  Do you count Austin Scarlett as a "great past contestant"?  I wanted to see Wendy Pepper or Mychel Knight. I wanted to see Nick or Daniel V. Hell, I would have taken Santino. Instead, they gave me Kenley Collins. KENLEY COLLINS. Ugh. Just saying her name makes me ill. I had totally forgotten about what a awful person/train wreck she was, but in an instant all the bad memories flooded over me and the fire of hate consumed me.

I was really excited to see Jerrell and Rami - though can we discuss Rami's v-neck situation? If it were any lower I could see his belly button.  It's fine though, because he's hot. But speaking of the boys on the show, I didn't think it was possible, but they seem to have become gayer. That's not a bad thing per se, but when the contestants played the video from Giancarlo Giacometti, partner of Valentino, and a brief hello from Valentino himself, all the men started crying. I laughed for a good 2 minutes on that alone.
To make this show new and exciting, gone are the PR alumnus - Heidi, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia (which is pronounced NEEEEEEEEEEEEEna Garcia).  Instead we have the amazing Isaac Mizrahi and probably one of the most beautiful women ever, Georgina Chapman, from Marchesa.  These two alone I could watch for hours - even if they were just sitting on my couch eating cereal.  I'm excited to see what they will bring for the season.
Instead of Tim, Joanna Cole from Marie Claire is the mentor.  JC is like a mix between Tilda Swindon and Anna Wintour except nicer (on both accounts) and I didn't think her advice was really advice. I sure did miss Tim and his "holla at your boy"s and "make it work".

In the end, Rami won - which as soon as his dress hit the runway you knew he would win, and the crazy spitting lady went home....exactly what everyone at home knew was going to happen.

Will I last the next couple of months to see the show through? Probably not, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching last night and reliving some of the past seasons. Next time, however, please put Andrae on the show. His drama and hysterics made for some killer tv.

a couple more things...

1. Here ye, here ye. Prince Harry is coming to America for helicopter training. Get excited if you live in CA or AZ. He is, by far, the hottest red head out there.

2. Did anyone watch Modern Family last night. Ya'll seriously. This show killllllls me. When Cam did his Streetcar Named Desire bit, I almost fell off the couch.

3. Because of MF last night, now I'm thinking about naming my unborn daughter Blanche....though if I could get away with it I would fully name her Blanche Hollingsworth.

4. Free Agents has been canceled. SO SAD. I really liked the first episode, but last night's seemed like a chore to watch. How is Up All Night still on the air?

5. My DVR is backed up beyond belief, but I did catch Project Runway's (what happened to Andre?) Chris March's show on Bravo, Mad Fashion.  Truly creative people leave me in awe. I could have never come up with half the stuff he did.

6. I caught 15 minutes of the show after Chris', Fashion Hunters or something like that, and it was awful. The main girl was beyond vapid. I couldn't even watch the whole show.

7. Saw "What's your number" this past weekend with Anna Farris and Chris Evans. It was so bad. So, so bad. Which is why I want my new job to be a movie reader. You give me the script, put together a 3 minute clip using a diorama and some play dough and I'll tell you whether people will watch.  There is no need to waste money like this.

8. I cannot stop quoting Clueless lately.  I've hurt my back somehow and I constantly keep saying "even fabian my masseuse says I have a lot of tension in my back." It makes me feel better...its my happy place.

9. During previews for that awful movie we saw this weekend, they showed the new Footloose clip.  Christ almighty. If I was Le Bacon, I would sue.  There was no reason on god's green earth they should have remade this movie. It's a classic. Would you remake Gone with the Wind or Casablanca? No. Because that's just crazy talk.

a couple of things...

* First and most important: can someone please make Olivia Palmero disappear? She's been in NY society since before "the city" and has never changed her image.  Her background is suspect and now she is starting her own website.  The only thing she has going for her is her hot boyfriend and I'm pretty sure she pays him to hang around.

* If you love classic, preppy clothes please check out the Christian Dior show during Paris fashion week. MAJOR. BANANAS. DEAD. http://www.style.com/

* FLOTUS (Michelle Obama) stopped by an Alexandria Target to do a bit of shopping. I don't really mind this because I already fine-tooth combed the bitch for Missoni and found nothing. But, this Target is already over crowded at best and now that people know MO stopped by, I can imagine it will be a nightmare.  Thanks a lot.

* I haven't even seen the show "Whitney", but I hate it.  She's making people think that Whitneys are not funny and we all know that is NOT true.

* Shows to set your DVR to record for the season: Revenge, The Good Wife, The Secret Circle, Modern Family (natch), Happy Endings (its back!!).

armani loves plums

Paris fashion week has started and in honor of that, I give you a brief recap of Rachel Zoe from last night. I missed last week's episode, but I'm sure it was all about "babe, baby, and joey" because that's what every episode is about.  It used to be that this show was about fashion and the celebrities that RZinc. dressed. But now the show has turned into Rachel Zoe television diary.  Not that she isn't beyond interesting - because she is - but I miss the dresses and I miss the celebrities.  Kim Kardashian doesn't count. I also miss that Rodger, "Rodge", had his own job and his own life and wasn't constantly all up in RZ's business. But those days are gone...

RZ tells you every 2.3 minutes that she is preggers. Knocked up. Bun in the oven. I keep thinking that maybe its the way the show is edited, but I honestly believe that she forgets and has to be reminded every 2.3 minutes that she is, indeed, pregnant. She also works a lot. Like, oh my god ya'll, A LOT. And she reminds us of this every 7 seconds.  So between being pregnant, working a more than full time job, telling everyone she is pregnant and working a full time job, the girl is exhausted.

If only she could just relax. She needs to calm down and relax. Not worry about anything and relax. And this is what Rodge tells us...over and over. There is a constant theme of repetition in this show. But Rodge throws all of that to the wind because he and his boyz are reliving the Hangover and doing Vegas big. Other than all his talk of RZ and the baby, Rodge and his boyz look like they would be fun to party in Vegas with. Yes? I mean, private jets, hot friends, suits at the Palms, presents from Hermes. Sounds like a pretty amazing 24 hours.  Homeboy can drink. I was seriously impressed.

Is anyone else annoyed by Joey? Other than Jeremiah? Joey has become super over the top this season and he reallllly needs to cool it with the botox. I need his forehead to move just a bit.

bless her heart

Lord have mercy ya'll. Last night I came across the saddest little show called Hart of Dixie on the CW. My expectations were not high, but with Ringer and the Secret Circle, I thought we might have a winner. Sigh....no.

Where to start on this...you see, I liked many of the pieces - Rachel Bilson (adorable), Scott Porter (Blake from the Good Wife who is nothing like his character on TGW), Vice President John Hoynes (Tim Matheson), the hot redneck neighbor, an alligator named Mr. Burt Reynolds (they share the same skin), a sleepy little Alabama town and a house that looks like its straight from the arizona sweet tea bottle. However, the writing? Awful. The 'southern' names? Atrocious. Lemon? No one names their child Lemon. And I hate the voice overs. HATE THEM. We got the story Rachel; you don’t need to talk to us like we're stupid, though it is on the CW, so maybe half your audience is.

Rachel Bilson is Zoe Hart and from the moment she was 9 she has wanted to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. She tells you this about 100 times. Here is the first problem though. Rachel Bilson probably couldn’t even spell cardiothoracic surgeon, and yet here she is, running around new york hospital, trying to be a doctor while wearing some killer stilettos and has a poor bed side manner.

When she doesn't get the internship she thought she deserved, she heads on down to Dixie where an old man who saw her speak at med school graduation begged her to come and work in his general practice. So dressed in her $6000 Chanel jacket and those damn stilettos, she hops aboard a Greyhound and treks it down to Alabama to find out old man Harley is dead and has left his portion of the practice to Zoe. The other half of the practice belongs to VP John Hoynes from TV’s West Wing who hates Zoe because she is a woman and she is from new york city.

I really, really dislike shows about the big city person who knows best but somehow ends up in the South to warm, friendly people and thinks they are backwards bum-fucks. Ok, sometimes it's true that part of the south is like the 1960, but that's not a reason to be mean to people.

So Zoe heads off the Greyhound stop (which stops randomly along a street) and starts walking the 3 miles to town in 4 inch heels, when a hot southern boy in a pickup truck stops and offers her a ride. She declines because she is a yankee and they do not accept rides from hot men strangers. They go back and forth and of course she takes the ride. She finds out that George lived in NYC too! But he loved the quiet life, sitting on the verandah, sipping some sweet tea. Zoe is marveled at this - why would anyone leave the city for this! He drops her at her new office, she meets her assistant, an under-utilized Nancy Travis, and requires a soy foam latte to keep her awake because she wants to see her patients! Right now! But there is no starbucks in this sleepy little town! Ohhh no. The horror! The closest coffee shop is 13 miles away. I can't imagine this is possibly true and should move there immediately to open a store.

A lot of stuff happened in this hour – from meeting Lemon, the cut-throat debutante whose father is John Hoynes who is engaged (yes ya’ll! Engaged to George!), to the black former football player who refers to himself in the third person, to George saving Zoe from Mr. Burt Reynolds in the middle of the night down a dark, deserted road. There was the pregnancy, the making out with hot neighbor boy, Zoe’s mother, Zoe’s father, the secret confession of Lemon loving the football player, and the sexual tension between George and Zoe. I’m exhausted just thinking/writing about it. It was a lot to take in.

I’m on the fence with this show. If the writing improves, then it could possibly be cute. But I don’t think there is any writing in the world that will make people believe that Rachel Bilson made it thru medical school and is a doctor. True story.

ya'll - she is not that "good"

Well, well, well. I know you all were on pins and needles waiting for the Good Wife to return last night and boy did it ever. We start the new season in new office space - it looks like the old office but Dianne got new furniture and Alicia is moving on up. No more basement office for her. FYI - I really like Dianne's new chairs. Other things that are new: Alicia's weird new hair cut and Eli is now a part of Lockhart Gardner. Thoughts about Alicia's hair?  It was distracting. Was it a mullet? Was it fashion wings with bangs?  It really got on my nerves towards the end of the show.

When we last left off, Alicia and Will were about to get it on. The writers faked us out a bit with the coy glances and the push back from Will. I thought for sure Alicia had done something to push him away, but then we see them in Will's apartment hallway, biting, kissing, doing the dirty up against the wall and America gave a scream of relief.  It was a pretty hot sex scene, no? I'm not really sure what the B story line was about - something with jews and muslims and video games- I only cared about W&A. I only know that Galinda is still wearing those effing boots, Alicia's saint routine is irking me and that I hate Carey more than ever...and we're only on episode one. Eeek.

rewind

I'm trying to work my way through the DVR as fast as possible and in what I consider to be a feat of nature, I watched Glee, NCIS, Ringer, Castle (the last 10 minutes) and the New Girl all last night. As my father says, there are 24 usable hours in every day.

Castle:
When we left off last season, Decetive Kate Beckett had been shot at her corrupt boss' funeral. Castle begged her not to die because he loved her.  This season, she is being rushed to the ER, where her weird but hot surgeon boyfriend just happens to be on call in the ER. His acting is the pits. So its a good thing they brake up during the show. Kate is fine (obvi) and returns to work to search for her mother's evil killer. But Castle, who has been kicked off the police force for not being a cop, is resolved to find her killer and make Kate love him.  It was an okay season opener.  This show doesn't have a lot of substance, but keeps me entertained.

Glee:
I obviously missed a couple episodes or something, because I was completely lost. What happened to Quinn? Why is her hair pink? And because its pink that makes her a punk? What happened to the kid with the lips? idk. It's official that I hate this show. It used to be funny and dark. Now its all I love everyone and I shit sunshine and unicorns. The songs are corny and I hate, hate, hate Lea Michelle.

The New Girl:
Um...okay...I see what you were trying to do, but no. If you have turned on a tv or read a magazine or rode a bus then you have seen the boucoup amount of ads for this show.  I don't personally like Zooey Deschanel so that hinders my ability to like the show.  But its a cute premise. I'll probably watch the second episode and I'll see from there. Hate the title though.

Ringer:
No green screen this episode! All in all I thought it was pretty good. There are a lot of questions that need answers. Bridget is slowly but surely working her way in to Sioban's life and I would too with the closet of Hermes scarves. The dead body that Bridget tried so hard to hide (read: left under a painters cloth, packed in a trunk) disappeared. Who took him? Where did he go? What's up with her best friend with the red hair and her cheating husband? I don't know that I'm 100% into this show, but I'll stick around for the third episode.

I've got things to do, people to see tonight, but we'll see what ends up on the DVR.

bits and pieces

The pain of Josh Charles and Louis CK not winning emmys, made me so depressed yesterday I couldn't even blog about it. Just kidding - work got in the way.

So while I am a day late, what did everyone think of the emmy's? Personally, I thought it was a snooze fest. Sue Sylvester was not funny (except that one line about why she was a lesbian and then introduced the cast of entourage. THAT was funny.) and her outfits were awful. Also, to point out, The Killing won nothing. I was super excited about that. See, AMC, even the emmy voters hated your stupid show.
I made some notes while I was watching the red carpet. Take them for what its worth:
"Elizabeth Moss - interesting but please wear some color"
"Lea Michelle - please die. cute dress"
"Melissa McCarthy - love the color, but too weird texture on skirt"
"Josh Charles - sprayed tan within an inch of his life. Girlfriend cute"
"Juliana Margulies - w.t.f. with that dress. it looks like dew drops on the front"
"Uh Gwyneth, FYI, you're missing half your dress"

In my never ending quest to watch new fall tv so you don't have to, I found a show I think I might be in love with. It's "Free Agents" on NBC (Wednesday 8:30pm). I couldn’t tell if I just thought it was funny (a la Happy Endings) or if others agreed, but my friend C said she thought it was funny too, so I think we found a winner. Backstory: Hank Azaria (who has obviously been working out) stars as a recently divorced PR guy who sleeps with his co-worker who is dealing with the death of her fiancĂ©e. There were so many funny parts of the show and I found myself laughing out loud for most of the show. Definitely watch!

I tried watching Will Arnett's new show, Up All Night, because I loved him in Arrested Development, but it's a no-go ya'll. Even with Maya Rudolph it's just not funny. At all. Backstory: Will and Christina Applegate star as new parents who can't believe they are parents. He - a stay at home dad who plays hockey on the play station.  She - a working mom for an 'oprah' like character. Even the plot isnt funny.

Because I like pretending I'm still in my late teens, I watched the CW's Secret Circle. I'm not even ashamed to admit that I really liked it.  Ok...well, a tiny bit ashamed. I'm going to see how the second episode goes before I give it a yea or nay. Backstory: Blonde girl's mom has a terrible "accident" where her house caught on fire. Girl is then sent to live with grandmama whom she barely knows. 5 kids immediately befriend her and then tell her the secret - they are witches.  Yes, I know it sounds like The Craft or something, but it's pretty good.

I taped Playboy Club and something else last night.  Anything else I should be taping?

it's the most wonderful time of the year

Rerun season is almost over! The fall previews look promising and the first show off the block, Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar started Tuesday night. I have to be honest that I didn't have much invested in this show before it started. I wasn't a Buffy fan (the movie, absolutely. the show, no) so I don't have the love for SMG that most people have.  But I was pleasantly surprised. And I'm going out on a limb by saying it's definitely DVR worthy.

The show centers around twin sisters, Bridget and Sibohan which is pronounced Chavaughn (you learn something new everyday) who haven't seen each other in 6 years, but suddenly are together again in the Hamptons and on a boat.  Bridget is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, she's also a former stripper and a witness to a terrible crime which you aren't aware of and flees FBI custody.  She's a bit of a mess.  Sibohan is a park avenue princess with an unbelievable collection of Hermes scarves. Honestly, I think I drooled for five minutes straight. I want everything in her wardrobe. She is the perfect image of a cold bitch.  I want to be her.

The episode jumps back and forth a lot which made it hard to keep up because it was the first episode and you were learning who everyone was and their back story.  There is apparently a step-daughter away at boarding school, a little boy who is maybe dead because of Bridget's drug issues, a best friend whose husband is cheating (with Sibohan!), a hot FBI agent played by eyeliner lover Nestor Carbonell, revenge, sister rivalry, and the worst green-screen use since 1982.  Truly, it was heinous.

But overall, I kind of liked it. SMG looks amazing and I think once they work out some kinks it will be a good show.
