Go ahead and drool.

I always would rather be in Paris than here...but especially this week, because it's Paris Haute Couture week. Late last night, Uncle Karl lit up the Grand Palais. Literally and figuratively.  Having his showing at 10pm, he recreated Place Vendome at night inside the Palais, complete with light up shoes. His inspiration was Coco in the 20's...and it's beautiful.

So all the models look a bit like Ke$ha, no? But I die over the black boucle dress with white and black lapel and the midnight blue with red /white trim dress.  I need that blue dress now to wear on boat parties...not that I have boat parties to attend, but if I was wearing that dress with the fingerless elbow gloves, I would just hang out down by the harbor and beg people to let me stow away.

Ahhh...one can dream,

I'm so tired. So, so tired.

Hello punkins! I hope everyone had a lovely and safe July 4th and that you all got some view of a firework or two. I don't know about ya'll, but I am exhausted. Laying by the pool, getting burned really takes it out of you.

It was a very busy 3 day weekend. Wills and Kate are flitting all around Canada, being utterly adorable. The way they look at each other just makes my black heart melt. And Kate with the clothes! Damn this girl. 1. everything she wears is amazing and 2. she is so skinny it makes me jealous. Seriously...look at these two outfits...
Alexander McQueen sweater dress; Erdem dress

Another royal wedding happened this weekend...Prince Albert of Monaco got married. Ya'll know Prince Albert, right...The son of Princess Grace...the one who can't keep it in his pants to save his life...the one who has illegitimate kids all over Europe? The one that has a pierced penis named after him? Yeah. Him. Well he found this poor girl, Charlene, who is beautiful but seems quite sad. And with the name of Charlene, who wouldn’t be sad? It reminds me of the character off Designing Women. Anyhow...apparently poor Charlene is not what Monaco thought of for a new princess. She's been kept hidden in the castle for months and has been ridiculed that she doesn't speak french. Now, there are new allegations that she tried to run away 3 times in the past 6 months...the last time just days before the wedding when royal officials tracked her down and took her passport. She kept referring to the marriage as an "arranged marriage" and apparently has to produce a male heir and stand by PA no matter how much he screws around. And she cried through the whole wedding. How freaking sad. Part of me smirks at her lifestyle and the fact that she is trying to run away, but most of me feels bad for the poor girl. She is now princess to a country that dislikes her, her husband is a ugly fuck who will sleep with anything, and she is trapped far from home. But she does have a ton of money...and if she were smart she would use that money to intoxicate herself and to buy really hot pool boys.

Celebrities at their wedding: KARL LAGERFELD (sigh), Naomi Campbell with her Russian hottie boyfriend billionaire Vladislav Doronin, President Sarkozy, Roger Moore and Karolina Kurkova.

Not there...Kate Moss.  And do you know why?  It's because she was spending a MILLION dollars...cause she was getting married too! And in the worst dress I've ever seen, though it was created by ex-Dior designer, John Galliano. Apparently, Kate being the sweet thing she is, moved up her wedding a day so to accomodate her friends attending both weddings.  How nice.

Naomi was also at her wedding (this jet setter here...), Sadie Frost, Jude Law, Stella McCartney, John Galliano, and Daphne Guiness.  Oh and the Vogues were there...Anna Wintour, Emmanuelle Alt, and Carine Roitfeld. Kate definately wins for the best guests.  Imagine that party.

Ok...well I think I caught up with all the fashion and fireworks I can stand for a day. But I will leave you with a picture of PA's and Charlene's cake. Please refrain from oooo-ing and ahhhh-ing, because it's tres tacky.

Planning my royal wedding...to Harry....

The number ones

Annnnnd I'm burned. Happy birthday America. Tomorrow I can only wear blue and white because I've got the red covered. Well I guess I can be a little happy that my first burn of the season didn't occur until July 3rd...or maybe it's just plain sad.

I've missed you guys, so I'm posting via iPhone. I hope this works.

So first thing first... Rafa. Ouch, what a loss. From the very first serve (which I watched at 9am thankyouverymuch), he just didn't seem to be in it. I thought Djokovic played well but I didn't think he played god-like. There were a lot of unforced errors on both sides, however Rafa's were just out of control. I thought maybe it was his foot, but it didn't seem to hurt during the match against murray. I love both players so this was a treat for me, but I kept rooting for poor nadal.

So going into this match, Nadal was listed at #1, but come Tuesday whether he won or lost, the #1 slot belonged to Djokovic. Do you think that's why Rafa was so down? I keep waiting for a FB update, but I bet it will be a day or two before anything is posted.
I hope everyone has a great 4th! See you Tuesday!

Ahhhh!

Big news boys and girls....I got some baller tickets for the Western and Southern Open! Who gets to see Rafa? This girl!  So excited and its perfect news headed into the long weekend.

Anyone have any plans that will make me jealous?  Benihana is headed to Charleston and I want to pack myself in his suitcase.

Well, behave this weekend and I will try my best to post some stuff.  Courtesy of facebook, I leave you with some Rafa words of wisdom:

"I’d like to share with you an advice to win all matches of your life. My friends, drink responsibly!"

tennis time

OHMYGODYALL.  Have you been watching what happened at Wimbledon today?  Well, if not then you have missed out.  First thing first - Federer lost.  LOST.  To #16 Jo-Wifried Tsonga from France.  Tsonga has been a strong player consistently over the past year and played very well against Nadal in the French Open.  But this is a shocker, to say the least.  And I'm sure that this lost have people talking about retirement again for poor Federer.

The other crazy match was Novak Djokovic against Bernard Tomic from Australia.  Tomic came out of nowhere this year at the Australian Open.  He is 18 years old, looks like a mon-chi-chi (so cute, and soft, and cuddly), and plays like he's been doing this his whole life.  And he gave Djokovic a run for his money. I don't think he was in jeopardy of losing the match, but you never really know.

Playing on a bum foot, Rafa beat Marty Fish, the only American to make it this far in the tournament.  What is up with American players?!  All we have are Andy Roddick and poor Marty Fish. Rafa will go on to play...Andy fucking Murray.  I've said it before and I will say it again.  I just don't like Murray. He seems like a cry baby.  And I also don't like him because he beat Feliciano Lopez.  Has anyone seen this guy?  He's like a hot jesus.
I told you. So any predictions for the final match? I'm guessing it will be #1 and #2.  However, the winner?  In my heart I say it's Rafa...but who knows.  I'm just so happy that Federer lost.

is it true that only boring people get bored?

I know, I know. I'm sorry for abandoning you for the past 24 hours.  There really was no excuse.  I started to write an entry on the randomness of True Blood, but about half way through it, I was bored. In fact, I've been getting bored with all of my tv shows and have actually uttered the phrase "I'm bored" a lot lately.  A co-worker said to me recently, that you really have to try hard to be bored in DC.  But I am. What's wrong with me?  Maybe I need more stimulation in my life? I'm sick of my routine of work, gym, home.  I've done the museums. I just need something more. Anybody taking an classes?  A new Bar Method place just opened up.

Let's do some random bullet points, because I feel like I have a lot to tell you, though I'm not quite sure what exactly.
*I found a gray hair this morning.  That is not unusual.  But what is unusual is the hair was half gray, half red.  For some bizarre reason, I kept it on my desk all morning.
*Last night a group of us went to Chef's Best to benefit Food and Friends, which is a program which delivers food to people in need and unable to make it out. The event was held at the Hilton Washington, which is referred to in these parts at the Hinckley Hilton, because it's where Hinckley shot Reagan.  The set up was a bit overwhelming with different chefs from restaurants around town making little bites for you to try.  What was overwhelming about it was the sheer number of people attending.  And the fact that I ate my face off. I truly thought I was going to be sick.  But the one thing that stuck with me was the delicious tiramisu cupcake from Hello Cupcake. It was soooo good.
*I have no cable right now, until Comnasty comes and hooks it up tomorrow. Which means I've had no Wimbledon coverage for 2 days. Which means I missed the Nadal/del Porto match yesterday where Rafa thought he broke his foot.  But thanks to the Facebook updates, he did not.  He was practicing this afternoon and will play tomorrow.
*In other tennis news, this was sent to me from FakeAnnaWintour.  I'm on the fence on whether this makes me like Novak more or less: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/wimbledon/8598686/Wimbledon-2011-Novak-Djokovic-pleads-for-pet-poodle-Pierre-to-be-allowed-into-tournament.html
*Some music for this lazy Tuesday...

And for the hell of it:

I'm outtie.
